Lyrics for Don't Panic as interpreted by Ice

Don't Panic Lyrics
bones sinking like stones
all that we've fought for
homes, places we've grown
all of us are done for

we live in a beautiful world
yeah we do
yeah we do
we live in a beautiful world

bones sinking like stones
all that we've fought for
homes, places we've grown
all of us are done for

we live in a beautiful world
yeah we do
yeah we do
we live in a beautiful world

we live in a beautiful world
yeah we do
yeah we do
we live in a beautiful world

oh all that i know
there's nothing here to run from
cause here, everybody here's got somebody to lean on

I don't normally like this genre, but this song is great, along with a bunch of others from Coldplay.

this song is great for when you're feeling depressed, I seriously just listen to the verse "Oh all that I know There's nothing here to run from 'Cos yeah, everybody here's got somebody to lean on" cuz if im sad it makes me realize the good things i have....this song is definitely one of my faves

Another one of Coldplay's best, the Don't Panic on the Blue Room Ep is also very good :)

Yeah, this song is kind of self-explanatory especially if you see the video. Not only this album and their EPs are great but all of their b-sides and upcoming album songs just blow me away. They're geniuses musically. Go listen to the song See You Soon and you'll know exactly what I mean.

This song is such a perfect first song for Parachutes it stuns me. It just set the rest of the album up so damn well, its got the right tempo, the right feel, the right lyrics, everything.

This song is about how no matter how troublesome you think the world is, there's always someone there to help you. I think the song is kind of odd how the tune sounds sad and the lyrics are encouraging. Am I wrong? I love this song anyways.

I lovee love his voice. Especially set to the music of this song. Sometimes the simplest of lyrics leave the greatest impact-this is def one of those types

I prefer the more mellow version of the song off the Blue Room EP. Am I alone in this?

No GoodGodWhatABeatnik, you are not alone on that one. However, I'd say that the slightly more up-tempo version was better suited to the album. The EP version might have not have done the album justice - but still, an excellent version!

i like looking at things in an alternate light, usually things are usually deeper than you can just read right off the lyrics, so personally i think the final line in the song "cos everybody here's got somebody to lean on" is a contemptuous sort of envy, to whom or what though, i have no idea.

I agree with Loveonpaper I always thought that it was an expression of envy from someone who had nobody to lean on. I can certainly relate to that interpretation of the lyrics better than the alternate.

The thing I like most about Coldplay is that they don't pretend they've got it all figured out. I guess I'm talking about Chris Martin since he writes the lyrics. Anyways there is a modesty to them. They exude this fragility, like an innocent boy in a world of men. It's not that they are blissfully ignorant or that they are infallable, but they acknowledge this and choose to see the beauty instead. They may get down or not have anyone to talk to sometimes, but in the end they remember the beauty of the world.

It seems helpless/sarcastic. I don't know how to describe it. The video is unusual ( in a good way).
really creative.
From just the lyrics, it could be about someone who is dying but doesn't want to.
He convinces himself it's a beautiful world he doesn't want to leave; he doesn't want to let go of what he's used to or leave "everybody here" Or maybe he's not dying, just afraid of change.

I totally agree with Silent Witness. At first, he's talking about bones sinking like stones, and how we're all done for.. but then he starts talking about how we live in a beautiful world.. it's almost as if he's trying to convince himself that the world isn't really as bad as it might seem to him.

i definitely think this song has some sarcasm but at the same time thinking about the lyrics, just hearing this song makes me feel very happy. I kind of happy you can't get by laughing. helium happy.

I love the simplicty of this song. It left me hanging for more when i first heard it because it is so short. When i first listen to a new song i critique it and naturally expect certain things from it kinda like when you listen to a song and you can guess the lyrics even tho you've never heard it. he says everybody here's got somebody to lean on and then i hear shiver? im like whoa. but the thing is i never get tired of the song. When i hear this song it just makes me think of the beauty of the world. Look at the sky. It is amazing. i sound like a Stoner when i say that but i mean really......think how beautiful this world is and we take it for granted. When i say that i am talking about Nature. Humans have created thier own problems. Don't blame your problems on God.

I first heard this when I was babysitting and it made me feel like I was at my church camp... which is the place I always feel so alive and so calm and peaceful and happy. The song really means a lot. If you're sad, listen to it and you'll know that it will all turn out alright.

Does this song have any reference to "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams?

i love this song and the book hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy, but the point is that it is quick and to the point
decisive and precise
and im redundant
