    General Comment:1969 makes me think of the summer of love haha. This song is so HEAVY! gotta love how trippy and laid back it is.


    OH and BTW I'd definitely say Kurt, Craig, and Billy had a lot in common. I'm sure they'd all hang out, laugh and have a good time. they wouldn't critique each other aimlessly, obviously they have better things to do. Don't rag on people, you just end up looking ignorant. Saying stuff like "nirvana, they only are considered that good cause kurt killed himself" and comparing 1969 to 1979 is just blah. you do realize you're ragging on awesome bands. I have respect for anyone who creates art and keeps the spirit of music alive. So please don't trash talk dead people or mock great songs (you probably love listening to), it's a complete downer. Keep on rockin' in the free world!!

    General Comment:I DON'T think this song is about drugs, it's about music and society. I think he feels that he is an outcast, that everyone acts in a certain way and he is different. He's "living through the sound of the dead," through music. It's 1969 in his head - a different time, and probably the music from 1969 inspires him. It a refuge for him, a place he can go to figure himself out (his "soul"). And yes, drugs help him too. But I think the last verse sums it up:

    Here we go
    There I stand
    I'm a seed
    Of a man...

    He doesn't know how to act like everyone else does, he's raw and innocent, and while everyone else moves forward, he stands alone.

    That's my interpration, and to me it is such a relatable song. I hope I die before the Vines do, LOL.

    General Comment:I love this song, it's weird listening to it whilst walking through the trees and the rain.
    1969 was (amazingly) the end of the sixties, so I reckon it's about the long-term effects of a drug-heavy life-style.

    General Comment:I can't exactally tell. If I were to guess, it's probably about drugs. I dunno, usually I can figure them out, but the lyrics are too weird. Anyways it don't really matter. It's a fuckin' awesome song.
