    General Comment:This song is about how miserable life can be if you develop a crush on one of your teachers in high school. The video tells a story of a little boy in elementary school who is in love with his teacher, doing whatever he could to please her. He gets made fun of my the other students, and soon the teacher ridicules him in front of the whole class, making him a laughing stock. After he leaves outside the room toward her window, he takes off the hat that he's been wearing the entire video, revealing two horns. The teacher can be seen struggling, surrounded in flames. Of course this video lead to controversy, and it was banned until it got edited so the student has no horns and the teacher is wrestling with nothing.

    i mean, c'mon. it just makes you feel better to know that if they broke your heart-it doesn't matter anymore, because you take back all the things you said when you were stupid, and replaced them with apathy. you learned from your "mistakes."

    General Comment:To hell with anyone who says the message in this song is too harsh. You've obviously never given your all to someone only to find out that you didn't know what kind of person they really were. To universally discourage taking back your love, you either haven't been hurt that badly, or else you prefer to "pretend that it meant something so much more."

    General Comment:Has anyone ever seen the video for this song? It's about a little elementary boy being in love with a teacher! You pussies that think the lyrics are too harsh should open up to the meaning for a minute, being in love with a teacher sometimes gives you joy, but in the end a relationship with him/her will never be possible and you'll only hummiliate yourself by saying nice things or doing nice things for him/her, when they already have a steady love partner and would be fired or even arrested if they felt the same way about you. It fucking sucks! I had a crush on my JOGS teacher and it put me through so much pain! I call this Mrs. Hayslip's song!

    General Comment:So this song came on right after Hell yes on my mp3 the other day and it got me thinking. What if this "Straight forward" song really has a deeper and darker connotation, after all, when does Matt make it So fucking obvious about what he's singing about? He really doesn't so why is this any different? I think this songs about turning your back on god as you grow older and more wise. If you were raised religious you kind of are "forced" into believing in god, but then you get older and realize it's all bull shit, just listen to the song with this in mind and see for yourself, only line that didn't work is the line about getting your tires slashed but think about it, when you have a fucked up day and then you see you've got a flat tire, what do you say? God why? Maybe i read too far into it but that's what the trio are fucking for!!
