Shaking like a dog shittin' razorblades
Waking up next to nothing after dreaming of you and me
I'm waking up all alone, waking up so relieved
While you're taking your time with apologies

I'm making my plans for revenge
Red eyes on orange horizons
If Columbus was wrong, I'd drive straight off the edge
I'd drive straight off the edge

Taking your own life with boredom
I'm taking my own life with wine
It helps you to rule out the sorrow
It helps me to empty my mind

Making the most of a bad time
I'm smoking the brains from my head
Leaving the coal calling the kettle black and orange and red
This kettle is seeing red

I've got a big fat fuckin' bone to pick with you my darling
In case you haven't heard I'm sick and tired of trying
I wish you would take my radio to bathe with you
Plugged in and ready to fall

Shaking like a dog shittin' razorblades
Waking up next to nothing after dreaming of you and me
Waking up all alone, waking up so relieved
While you're taking your time with apologies

I'm planning out my revenge
Red eyes on orange horizons
If Columbus was wrong I'd drive straight off the edge
I'm seeing red

I've got a big fat fuckin' bone to pick with you my darling
In case you haven't heard, I'm sick and tired of trying
I wish you would take my radio to bathe with you
Plugged in and ready to fall

Plugged in and ready to fall
Plugged in and ready to fall
Plugged in and ready to fall

General Comment:I sorta wonder why he says "take MY radio". if I was him, I'd want her to take her own god damn radio.

General Comment:The first time I heard this song it was about five years ago. It was my freshman year and I was on the bus with my friend, who had it on her iPod. I was into rap at the time, as most young kids are, but when she stuck her headphone into my ear and forced me to listen, I stopped and listened immediately. This song has helped me through rough times and strengthened me throughout the good ones. When Matt sings, "making the most of a bad time", it gives me goosebumps. This will remain one of the most meaningful and sincere songs I have ever heard.

General Comment:...when i first used to listen to this song, (post horribly bad break-up) i used to cry, after a couple of drinks, it became my anthem...i looove it.

It truly is one of the best song ( musically and lyrically) ive heard.

other songs with more or less the same context of this one, but a little less melancholic-y "everyday is a struggle" -senses fail and my all time favorite ( by Matt Skiba) "good fucking bye". that song alone is why i bought the Split album.... :D

General Comment:I love this song to death. It's what got me hooked on Alkaline Trio, What made me fall in love, What made me buy 7 cds and 3 t shirts and go to 10 concert. Never gets old.

But honestly i love the HWM version a little better. Their rough voice sounds so much better with these lyrics then Alkaline Trio's does.

But either way its an amazing song nonetheless.
