So sad, it means everything to me.
Demolition Lovers is beautiful, and I agree with all the people who said it's about a guy proving his love to someone.
(And of course the both die in the end.)
Doesn't get much more chemically romantic that that.

the song is a story two lovers running and they get gunned down in the desert. it then ties into three cheers for sweet revenge which the stoy behind that is they go to pergetory and she goes to hell and in order for him to get her back he has to kill a thousand evil men.

If you EVER read the lyrics, you would know what it means. The relationship obviously is working out. "Hand in mine into your icy blues." I'm 100% sure that if you were in a bad relationship, you wouldn't be staring into eachother's eyes while holding their hand. Gerard is talking about how he would go to the end with the one he loves."And then I'd say we could take to the highway." "I would drive until the end with you.""Until the end, until this blood ." They will not let anything get in their way."And with this trunk of ammunition too." The relationship at one time may have been shaky."And after all the the things we put each other through and." They'll do anything to keep going on with eachother, such as ROBBING A LIQUOR STORE. It is all about love, true love. Not bullshit physics love. This song helped me realize who I truely loved. This is the greatest song ever.

I like this CD better than the new one. Too many posers bought the new one based on Helena. It's like the nly one they listened too, then The Ghost of You video came out, then there were 2 songs they listened too. WOW!! I hate posers.

P.S. Who cares what the songs based on, care about what it means!!

there are two different view of this, some say it's a crime couple (like bonnie and clyde) that go down together in a hail of bullets during a battle. another one, which i'm thinking may make more sense, is a couple that deside to prove their love to each other by going out to the desert, where it snows (?) and shoot each other. this then leads to the revenge albumn

i think this song is about a crime couple after their wedding day and they go out to commit a crime but ut of nowhere the wife is killed and that leads into the revenge album

this might sound crazy so u don't have to take it seriously

This song is the story of bonnie and clyde, gerard likes writing about movies(early sunsetsover monroeville etc.) They are criminal lovers on the run from the law and it all ends in a final standoff on the desert where they get shot to pieces.
Its also about love, and how they would die for love and die for each other and even in death be still together.
Please tell me im not the only person who cried when they heard this song.

i think this song it's about a relationship that's failing but the man really cares about it but he can't really show at all that she means sooooo much to him, and that they tried so much times to make the thing work out "But this time I'll show u how much u mean" but they just can't make it... it's a really sad song... altho one of their bests...

Absolutely beautiful. It's probably my favorite MCR song period. This album is a lot better than Three Cheers, mostly because the songs are...just a bit deeper. I've cried at this song many times, probably because I always listen to it when I'm in a depressed mood. I quote it often in notes to my boyfriend *lol*

this song, it just means the world to me. i love it. it shows you how true love really does conquer all. just listen to the song.. they would do anything. ANYTHING. just to hold hands. and be together. it cant get much more meaningful than that.

A girl at my school (who I didn't really know) passed away reccently and they played this at her funeral (obviously her "last request").
I love the way Gerard's voice starts off all soft and sinister and progresses to heavy and maniacal. I love it. :)

Gerard said in an interview it's kind of about a Bonnie and Clyde story but it's part of the story about them dying together but only he dies and he gets stuck in purgatry then he has to kill 1000 men to get her back or something. I think this song is about loving someone so much you'd die with/for them.

I think this song is actually about a comic called preacher. if you've read it i guess you might get what i'm on about. or i guess its about a movie or some other comic. Preacher seems the more..... 'demolition lovers-y'

This song reminds me very strongly of the last book in Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series. The blood, the bullets, the lost love, and the mention of roses.

"Hand in mine, into your icy blues" - Roland's blue eyes...yeah

And I know that this song came out before the last book, but still - this time around, I'll be listenig to this song on repeat for the entire last book.

I consider this a song pretty much about Natural Born Killers. For those of you that havent seen the movie, heres a plot summary: Two lovers, Mickey and Mallory, kill Mallory's abusive parents and go on a killing spree. They are ultimately caught and thrown in jail, but escape and end up together. "I'd end my days with you in a hail of bullets" is pretty much a direct quote from the movie, and "Hand in mine into YOUR ICY BLUES", Woody Harrelson is the lead guy in the movie, and as you probably know, he has piercing blue eyes. I'm not saying its not a song linked to 3 Cheers, or an apology to Kat (which i suppose it obviously is, after reading the liner notes), i'm just explaining the links to the movie here. Remember kids, love kills the demon.
