Lyrics for Demolition Lovers as interpreted by a scar in the sky

Demolition Lovers Lyrics
Hand in mine, into your icy blues
And then I'd say to you we could take to the highway
With this trunk of ammunition too
I'd end my days with you in a hail of bullets

I'm trying, I'm trying
To let you know just how much you mean to me
And after all the the things we put each other through and

I would drive on to the end with you
A liquor store or two keeps the gas tank full
And I feel like there's nothing left to do
But prove myself to you and we'll keep it running

But this time, I mean it
I'll let you know just how much you mean to me
As snow falls on desert sky
Until the end of everything
I'm trying, I'm trying
To let you know how much you mean
As days fade, and nights grow
And we go cold

Until the end, until this blood
Until this, I mean this, I mean this
Until the end of...

I'm trying, I'm trying
To let you know how much you mean
As days fade, and nights grow
And we go cold

But this time, we'll show them
We'll show them all how much we mean
As snow falls on desert sky
Until the end of every...

All we are, all we are
Is bullets I mean this

As lead rains, will pass on through our phantoms

Forever, forever
Like scarecrows that fuel this flame we're burning
Forever, and ever
Know how much I want to show you you're the only one
Like a bed of roses there's a dozen reasons in this gun

And as we're falling down, and in this pool of blood
And as we're touching hands, and as we're falling down
And in this pool of blood, and as we're falling down
I'll see your eyes, and in this pool of blood
I'll meet your eyes, I mean this forever

this is truly an amazing song. akgh, it's because it's about my life and love. I realate to it, what can I say. Because I have a love that I can never have, and he can't be with me and life is just so hard and god I sound emo. But, there's that symbolism. These tow have love, want to prove it and will do anything to prove it. THey're even willing to forge a suicide pact. The world wants to split them us, so they try to escape. The world wants to make them bleed, slaughter them while they run for cover. The world succeeds. They love each other more than life itself, and prove it, they gave up life itself just to hold hands. and it's proved, even in that pool of blood. There's something that the world didn't succeed with tough. It didn't kill their love, it may have killed them, but it made that love immortal. Nothing can break it, even after they grow cold, they still share a grave. God it's morbidly beautiful.

Re: "all we are, all we are is bullets, i mean this"

Perhaps the allusion to them being bullets mean that they are deathly, but to each other. The title suggests as much, since their demolition suggests a crash and burn (and again, is alluded to in the reference of fueling the flame). And it's so neat that MCR uses the drum to sound off what sounds like multiple bullets firing.

One other line I just think is great:
"Like a bed of roses there's a dozen reasons in this gun "

What a toxic, beautiful way to die.

....Flat out I know the meaning of the song. They explained it...because the entire second album is a sequel to this and drowning lessons.

It's about a guy and his bitch getting mowed down in a rain of bullets by the antagonists of the story.

They die together.

That's basically the whole song.

I love the way that this song progresses. The first part is my fave, but the entire song is great. Im not entirely sure of the meaning of the song but it could be something to do with a dying relationship, not sure.

This is the first chapter in the story that continues on Three Cheers.

Guy meets girl..
Guy loves girl.
Guy and girl go on a rampage, ended in a "Hail of bullets"

Girl isnt really dead.
Guy wants to go back and find her.
He makes a deal with the devil to kill "a thousand evil men" to get back to the girl.

I read an interview, and Gerard said that a lot of the stuff on Three Cheers is about a graphic novel called "Preacher". I've never read it, so I can give you direct refferances, but yeah.

i think this is talking about how they are in, or will eventually be in hell. it also talks about the lengths Gerard would go to, to show her how much he loves her...maybe meaning he'll do anything to reunite with her. The roses/bullets reference could mean he'll use bullets to show how much he loves her. or somethin like that. haha.

This song is awesome, I am learning the tabs on my guitar. This song is totally about a relationship. I think they have had their rough patches, but when it comes down to it, he loves her. I don't think she believe him though, because he feels like he needs to prove it to her. I am totally in this situation.

"And after all the the things we put each other through and
I would drive on to the end with you "

who can say no to that?

Well, although people have already made the right point about this song, it is about Gerard and some girl, their love for each other, and how much they would do for each other. it clearly says that in the thank yous. Don't know where those are? Try lifting up your cd and looking where it lyes. Its making up all of the songs that Gerard wrote about this girl named Barb and killing her and stuff. Then this is just saying how much she loves her. Yeah, thats about it. Forgive me if im wrong, but if I am, then Gerard must be wrong also.

in this song all he cares about is this lady. so he wants them to die together and escape the world's harshness together and be happy together in the end. and it's just them and no one or nothing else matters.

tcfsr is bascially demolition lovers part 2. I remember Gerard saying it was in an interview I read a while back.

brutal romance has got it almost right.

Insept the concept wasn't that she's still alive but that they both die but only she goes to hell.

So he makes a pact with the devil to kill 1000 evil men, then he can have his girl back.

I think Demolition Lovers though is about how much he loves a girl and would do anything in order to stay with her.

It's pretty much a Romeo and Juliet thing insept they are both evil people. (think bonnie and clyde)

'a liquor store or two keeps the gas tank full'

They know thet can't be together in life. No matter how long they keep on running the cops/fbi ect will be after them.

'snow falls on desert sky
until the end of everything...'

So they'll think they will be able to be together in death in hell.

'As lead rains, will pass on through our phantoms,
forever forever
like scarecrows that fuel this flame we're burning
forever and ever'

So they kill themselves by shooting themselfs in the head

'Like a bed of roese there's a dozen reasons in this gun'
If you look at the lyrics the is more then one reference to every point ive made.

Then tcfsr is basically the rest of the story.

I may be wrong but ya know its only my opinion

yeah i agree with the idea that it fits in with the 'corpses of a thousand evil men' concept album thing, but i think that this song has its own stand alone meaning aswel. even from just the title, you can tell its about two people who love each other so much that they would die with each other but at the same time they are destroying each other (thats kinda shown by 'but THIS TIME i mean it'). its like hes trying to get her to give him another chance because they love each other so much even if they do destroy each other at the same time.

the other interpretation is obv the one that fits in with the concept album... they are totally in love and get gunned down. he dies. devil tells him to bring him the corpses of a thousand evil men and he'll get the girl back... and so on he goes into TCFSR

I had to do an essay on analyzing song lyrics, and being the junky that I am i picked this song. It's just that good, and honestly, to me, this song has alot of meanings. But, its generally about a main character, and his girlfriend who love each other no matter what and want to prove it even as they are getting gunned down in a desert in the end.
"as snow falls on desert sky, until the end of everything"
