Greatest song...anyways...
i think that this song is about a relationship that never works out. He is obsessed so much with this love, that he would do anything for her to show his devotion, even if it means death. "We'll show them all how much we mean, as snow falls on desert sky"-this shows that he knows the relationship will not work, just as snow cannot fall in the desert.

Great song..fits rite in with my life.



P.S. Thrice is the best band ever.

I think you kids read too much into songs. This song - like Early Sunsets Over Monroeville - is probably about a movie. Natural Born Killers, Kalifornia or something along those lines. I haven't seen either in awhile so I can't be certain.

At first I thought this was about Bonnie and Clyde, but if you read the credits in the cd, it's actually to some girl to make up for all the songs he wrote about killing her hehe..

haha ya but actually sillen he also gerard admitted that he wrote it to the girl but also as an ode to those who would die for each other those who would risk life and limb for thier love even if it was just to die with them...and yes its a mix of influence from bonnie and clyde, natural born killers, and a really underground flick called married by bloodshed its fucking amazing...gerard is nutz and awesome

first of all this song is fucking great, i am going to have to agree with the first guy about what this song means, and you can never read into a song too much, if your gonna listen to a song and not care about the meaning of it then you might as well go listen to some destiny's child or n'sync. I saw these guys live a few weeks ago in Chicago and they were fucking awesome!!!!! Not quite as good as Something Corporate but their getting there.

Sigmund Freud also said that smoking is the active satisfaction for an individual who is undeveloped and "trapped" in the Oral Stage of development. Also, he suggests that smoking is representative of oral sex. Just thought u might all like to know that. oh yea......MCR kills me everytime

oh and this song is just a love song.. just simply a love song where he says how much she means to him and the way that until the end of everything is mentioned meaning that he really means it regardless of anything but notice its not about not working out or breaking up or any of that.. because at the ends its said"And as we're falling down, and in this pool of blood

I can relate to this song. Obviously lots of things have been going on between the two, they've had problems but they've still stuck together.
It seems that he wants to show her how much she means by wanting to die with her.
Great lyrics, great song.
Ps. How can anyone say you can read too much into a song? Whether it's from a movie or not, people can still relate to the lyrics.

MCR... im a new fan to these guys... but i must say... the only other bands to ever give me the amount of goosebumps this song gives me is the wicked Three sum Jeremy Enigks been invlolved in, counting ROTFQ.

Some dozen listens later and the end of this song still brings me to tears. Damn. The meaning of this song isn't too tough to pick out, and MCR have said on multiple occasions that they're largely inspired by movies, books, and most forms of media, so the parallel between this and Natural Born Killers is probably more than coincidence.

Obviously, on the surface this song is about lving someone to death but the background to this track is a story that Gerard has concieved about two characters, he and his partner (K). They are both killed but he ends up in Purgatory and the only way that he can get to her is if he kills 1000 evil men. This is the story of how they died. Part of Three Cheers For sweet Revenge follows up this song, and also part of the Demolition Lovers epic is the song Drowning Lessons as it touches upon "1 000 bodies piled up". But of course, there are imagery ties to Natural Born Killers.
My Chemical Romance is the best band ever. Settled.

they were the best. Their progression sucked and their new albumn totally crashed. Its way too mainstream and their sound went more mainstream
