This song reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, just because of the star-crossed lovers thing. I doubt it has anything to do with that, though.

I think it's a whole Romeo Juliet thing. I think that it's about them commiting suicide togather to escape people trying to tear them apart. Hence the "take my fucking hand and never be afraid again". I think they are going to kill themselves togather and he is trying to get her to trust him.

Yes. They're lovers that are being held back by others. They're going to kill eachother and go to hell together. That's why the shed your yellow. Then the immortality line is like they can still be together forever when they die, only they'll be in hell. The people that try and hold them back won't be there though. Trade me for an apparition, that they'll be spirits together instead of beings. The love will go on forever. That's what it means to me.

i really love this song just how much he puts into the chorus, and he has a fucking amazing voice! but to me, it seems like he's telling this girl to like not be embarrassed and to make the best of it even though there relationship isnt really going anywhere anymore. and isnt laceration like a cut, but i dont know about laceration gravity! to me he's just telling her to stand up and be proud and stop being a coward

This song is legendary.
It has the best lines ever written by this band.
The fact that gerard screams and curses alot in this song and that his singing is slightly out of tune makes it even more exciting!!

I Think Its Amazing ( I Havent Read The Second Page, so if some1 has already pointed this out im sorry) That Some Guy Thinks The Line 'cross the patron saint of switchblade fights' means 2 betray him. its a reference to the way christians cross themselves as a form of worship. hes saying he worships the god of switchblade fights. I Think The Line About 'the mystery of laceration gravity' is just an incredibly cool way of saying lets see what happens when the shit hits the fan. it sorta also makes me think of falling through a glass roof of a building from a height. 'Trade me for an apparation' clearly means dump me for some guy (or if its friends as 1 guy suggested, leave me for another friend) but they wont be the same as me. they wont have teh depth. sort of like the 'temporary standin for your face' line in cubicles. Does any1 know what celebrities dying in threes is all about? and also, the anger in the chorus is a thing of beauty

Laceration Gravity = Laceration + Gravity.

Gravity: Probably Gravitational, Influenced by The Laws of Gravity.

Laceration: Damage, Bruises, Cuts.

To Sum it all up: Laceration Gravity = Result of internal, Psychological damage floating to the surface, Laceration = Anger ; Gravity = External Expression -----> Expressing your anger.
Laceration Gravity = Screaming.

When i was at warped tour 2005 Denver, CO. Gerard told the crowd what this song meant. Its actually about a girl in kindergarden he liked, she stabbed him with some scissors. So thats basically what the song is about in some insanely inconsistant way.

after long hours of research i have come to finally understand the meaning of "Our Lady of Sorrows"
it is in fact about friendship. the first part talks about being perfect, perfect = best....star lovers are lovers destined to a tragic ending, so it doesnt necessary means that they are lovers....and now is time to settle the affair...im not sure wutr yellow means yet....laceration gravity i suppose is the damage made by gravity when you jump off a a great height maybe they are falling down internally....and now is time to get revenge in their enemies and show them that they can take anything together as friends....the chorus is selfexplanatorie, take my hand and dont be afraid we will be okay so long as we are together...this is our last chance to get our enemies back...the patron saints of switchblades fights are people on the streets, maybe their enemies are the best switchblade figthers thus the name....it is thought in my country and many other conutries that everything happens by threes, deaths, pregnacy, fortune, love, etc....remember that three is the number of persons in the Holy Trinity..."i'll make you undesrtand and you can trade me for an apparition" just means: if you dont trust me you can go get someoneelse to help you....his friend is now confused about who he can really count with...."o how wrong we were to think that inmortality meant never dying" is selfexplained.....all i gotta say now is that MCR ROCKS HARD!!!!....tell me wut u think of my interpretention....MCR forever!!!

the title 'our lady of sorrows' is some sort of religious reference to Mary isn't it?? im not all that in touch with religion so i could be wrong, but can any one see how this could fit in?
