If we never make it back
To how far we've come along this way
Search around for solid ground
That will help to carry us away

If the memories I left throw the light
That helps to guide you through
Trickle down to our goodbyes
But a part of me will stay with you

What we've spoken over time
Never broken or compromised
Dream on together
Leaning against each other
How ever it happens
I hope it's whatever makes you happy

Dream on together
Leaning against each other
How ever it happens
I hope it's whatever makes you happy
Whatever makes you happy yeah

General Comment:The song is for a friend of Bernards, whose mother had died. The lyrics are written on the behalf of the mother (to her children), who was unable to say goodbye before she passed.

General Comment:This is about two friends who got involved in a relationship. Then when they eventually broke up, it's hard for them to get their friendship back to the point it was before they went out. But the singer is basically saying, we'll approach this in a way that whatever makes you happy...so if you don't want to speak to me, you don't have to, if you don't want to go out with me, you don't have to, just do whatever makes you happy
