  and i agree with illy that its about stability in all the worlds uncertanty. and how that stability whether its a lover or a comfortable secluded house, can make it all okay.

  General Comment:I feel thing song is about two relatively normal people (with a few money worries, and an orange tree), who, like most others, can find the world dangerous.
  
  It's about being safe, by having something tangiable and stable in the world. Not something or someone perfect, but just having someone who can make you feel less alone. Like you're safe, even in the scary wide world.

  General Comment:I love the Whitlams also and wonder why no one writes about them, their songs are amazing! This song and well entire cd makes me want to pack up and move to Sydney (i'm currently in Brisbane) It's a fantastic album and yeah i just can't believe how much it calls SYDNEY (obviously it's meant to) but yeah, hmm i'm not making sense now

  General Comment:how come no one has put comments about the whitlams? i love the whitlams.. i always have and i always will. this song reminds me of summer.. mainly because i got it in summer and listened to it all the time. do you think maybe tim's singing about his daughter (not that he has a daughter)?
