  General Comment:you guys are right when you say it speaks for the crew members
  but dont forget, when we hear it in the series, its during the time that faye has run off and left the bebop and the others are all sulking in her absence, albeit perhaps unadmittedly
  so although yeah its versatile and it can easily refer to the relationships you mentioned, i believe it more specifically references the deep, unspoken feelings the bebop have for faye at the time
  of course theyd never tell her so the series uses this song to let us know how they feel

  General Comment:i just wanna say that its fairly pointless saying that the series has a blues influence...because bebop is a "not excactly well-known" genre of music which is a variation of jazz and blues

  General Comment:StarmanDX, are you fucking retarded? One, this anime was made LONG before that song came out. And 2, Bittersweet Symphony actually ripped off an old Rolling Stones instrumental album, Rolling Stones sued, and got all the royalties for that album.

  General Comment:to me this song is about a guy searching for the girl he loves, (or vice versa) but he/she cant find him/her, so he pretty much gives up but still just wants to hear from her one more time. I'm in this situation right now. certainly relates to Spike.

  and yeah, Steve sang it. He also sang Diggin', No Reply, Stray, one version of Rain, Words That We Couldn't Say, Could You Bite The Hand? and Nowhere and Everywhere, which is one of my favorite songs. he's awesome.

  General Comment:It's not just about Spike and Julia, it's about the whole crew looking for the meaning in their pasts and a place they can belong. For Jet, it's about Alisa. For Faye, it's about her friends at school. For Ed, it's about her father. And Ein's just a dog.
  
  Personally, I think this is one of the two best songs ever written. The other one is Blue.

  General Comment:Its the ending-theme from CowboyBebop, the series, which I very enjoyed. Many Animes have nice melodic music, but too often its electricaly "destroyed" with high tones(I call it Nintendo-Techno), not so here, not only the music is cool, the whole series is. And it all fites in the concept, the blues-jazz influenced music and the dark future-atmosphere. First time I saw it, I thaught "Yeah, this is why we got hands to paint and eyes to look" and I still think of it as the very best anime-series ever made - so long.
