Days are long but the minds are strong
In the factory
Heads are down and all the people frown
In the factory

I'm so down I put my head around
Every noose I see
Days are long but the minds are strong
In the factory

Aaaaahhh hey hey
Aaaaahhh hey hey

Eyes are mean but the walls are clean
In the factory
Patience now they're gonna string you out
In the factory

I'm so tired I never go outside
Every night I sleep
Days are long but the minds are strong
In the factory

Aaaaahhh hey hey
Aaaaahhh hey hey

In the factory
In the factory
Every night I sleep
In the factory

Aaaaahhh hey hey
Aaaaahhh hey hey

General Comment:I thought this song was a sort of parody or counterpart to the Blur song with the words "in the country" (I can't remember what it's called). The rythms are quite similar and it's as if Craig is describing the life of someone on the opposite end of the scale from the rich guy in the Blur song.

General Comment:I completely agree its very very strongly influenced by Beatles Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, just go listen to Factory by the vines then Ob-la-di by the Beatles.

    Im not kiddin,its eerie.

General Comment:It reminds me of Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da to some extent, but I wouldn't go as far to say that it's a rip-off. I think it's a great tune. The Vines had such promise following Highly Evolved. It's too bad WInning Days was such a mess... maybe there's still some hope for Craig and the gents.

General Comment:This song is a complete rip off of an old song which I don't remember the name. The only thing not stolen is the lyrics.

General Comment:OK, this song is referring to when Craig Nicholls, the lead singer, was working at McDonald's. The lyrics explain it all. I know it's already been mentioned, but it is so ironic how the music is like really happy and upbeat sounding but the lyrics are totally opposite.

General Comment:i like this song a lot... and pet is right. it is rather ironic that the tune is so beachy when the lyrics are the opposite. it almost sounds like something the beatles would have done... in a way...

General Comment:This song is great. its a little more out there, kind of a stretch. i think it might be an indication of the vines range of abilitys. I guess the meaning is just a song about soul-sucking drone work. I think its interesting that the music would have such an island-y vibe. almost like a vaction. the irony between upbeat, fun music, and such down-trodden lyrics is amazing.
