  General Comment:I thought that it meant everybody has a best friend (as in bf or gf) and the main person singing the song wants her love to notice HER and not others so she won't be made fun of ("lately everyone's been making fun")

  General Comment:Oh my gosh...this is totally my favorite Toy Box song! And yes they're friends, but not neccessarilly w/ benefits...he seems totally clueless! and she is jealous of his other interests, but there is nothing indicating any kind of love relationship prior to that.
  
  But I love this song! Those green men things on the vid are super creepy tho. And the psuedo-female things w/ the "hoo. ha. hoo-ha!"'s
