I've got a little red bow
And I bought it for you
'Cause I know you're not fair
I don't get it, oh well
And you color my skin
And the colors don't blend

'Cause I'm gonna get you
And your little dog too
There's a yellow brick road
That we follow back home
'Cause I know you can't wait
Your belligerent hate
There's no place like home
There's no place like home

Like home
I've, got a southern belle too
And ruby red shoes
With a body of straw
Are you sick of it all?
There's a man made of tin
With an oil can grin

And I'm gonna get you
And your little dog too
There's a yellow brick road
That we follow back home
And I know you can't wait
Your belligerent hate
There's no place like home
There's no place like home

There's a little white porch
And you wanted it so
Can you let me go down
To the end of the road
In the black and the white
A techni-colorful life
Can I stand by your side?
We can make it alright

Like home
'Cause I'm home
There's a little white porch
And you wanted it so
Can you let me go down
To the end of the road
In the black and the white
A Technicolorful life

Then another arrived
It's a cowardly lion
What I want from this world
What I wanna resolve
When I want you to stay
So I want you to wait

I don't wanna be bold
I don't wanna be cold
I don't wanna grow old
I don't wanna go home

General Comment:There are a lot of great ideas about this song so far. But for me it goes just a step further. It's not only the place that can make a home, home. I think its also the people in it. At the beginning the protagonist is alone in a strange new world where they don't feel comfortable. They just want to get back home. As the song progresses they begin to realize being with these other individuals helps them feel more at home.

    Cause I'm home
    There's a little white porch
    And you wanted it so
Could you let me go down
To the end of the road
    In the black and white
    Technicolorful life

If you watch the movie Dorthy is at home when its black and white. That is what she considers normality.
When she gets to Oz everything is in color and its all strange to her. Also I see this as a crossroads in the persons life. They are at the end of the road where everything behind them was home a place where they belong, and right in front of them is this strange place where they aren't sure what could happen.

What I want from this world
    What I want is resolve

This part I interpret is the person asking themselves what do they want to gain from the world. Should they stay at a place where they feel like they belong or step into a brand new world and explore?

Well I want you to stay
    So I want you wait
    I don't wanna be bold
    I don't wanna be cold
    I don't wanna grow old
    I wanna go home...

At the very end they are saying they don't want to be bold and travel to this unexplored area where something could go wrong. They fear failure so instead of chancing it they ask this other person, their rock, to stay with them in a place where they feel they fit in and don't chance anything.

Just the way I hear it. Let me know if anyone agrees/disagrees. Either way great song!

General Comment:When BB writes songs, they seem to have many different meanings and thats what ben aims for. he doesn't want easily identifiable songs. the song means whatever you think it means

General Comment:yayy! If you said something about the Wizard of Oz, then you are correct. At the beginning of the actual song they put a voice clip of the Wicked Witch of the West saying "I'll get you and your little dog too!" and they announced that they had made this song for the Wizard of Oz. :] good job to those who said this.

My Interpretation:DEC2012, yours is the only post that makes any sense at all - I think everybody else must be 11 years old or younger. Hey, does anybody else want to mention it has to do with the Wizard of Oz? The problem with this site is that people want to include useless posts. It's called song meanings not how much I love this band, OMG!

Back to DEC2012, I got the idea it was about his struggle b/t wanting to settle down and make a home and his constant drive to be promiscuous (see polyamorous). I think I'd go as far as to say he was talking to/about a woman who was everything he would want in a wife/partner for life, but he's still struggling. He wants to commit, but can't, and is afraid that he'll lose her if he doesn't. It's a constant mental battle, and a paradox. He wants her, but can't bring himself to sacrifice the part of him that has to go to give her what she needs, while at the same time he knows that she has what he needs. There, maybe there's a second post that somebody will actually find helpful.

My Interpretation:This song is about cheating, as is the rest of the album. Breaking Benjamin seems to have themes to their album. Saturate is infidelity, Phobia is fears, Dear gony is death.

General Comment:This song is great - usually disturbs me, though. Something about the lyrics, I guess.
I always think that it's not always from Dorothy's point of view, something about it makes it sound like it's Oz talking or something, either way, it makes the world and characters come across as threatening and malicious.

General Comment:also, these are the lyrics i hear and they make more sense in context that the song is about wanting to be in a place of belonging

    Cause I'm home
    There's a little white porch
    And you wanted it so
Could you let me go down
To the end of the road
    In the black and white
    Technicolorful life
    Then another arrives
    It's a cowardly lion
What I want from this world
    What I want to resolve
Well I want you to stay
So I want you to wait
    I don't wanna be Bold
    I don't wanna be cold
    I don't wanna grow old
    I don't wanna go home....

this makes more sense in my mind

General Comment:I feel like this song is about belonging in a different place which is the Moral to Wizard of Oz, Dorothy gets trapped in a place she feels like she doesn't belong and wants to go to that place of perfect serenity to her, the place that she loves that is home to her. this song is about wanting to go to that place of perfect serenity and feeling like you belong there, but at the end of the song he sings about not wanting to go home, i believe this reason is in the song, the person feels like this is where he belongs, this place that was once so strange and alien to him is now is place of serenity, it is now his home. I love breaking benjamin and i think this is my favorite song off of this album, i can relate to the lyrics alot other than the ending(realizing your already home) and hope to one day find my place of happiness and belonging, i hope one day to go Home.

General Comment:Every song has a different meaning to everyone. So everyone is right. It's all what you take away from it. For the most part I like Ingunswetrust's interpretation. PainfulLullaby's posting of the lyrics is a little off but that's ok.

To me it's about sacrificing for someone who doesn't appriciate it. Also still loving that person even though they hurt you. But that's just my general interpretation of what it means to me.
