Eve 6 – Here's To The Night

  My Opinion:A lot of people will think of a love story when hearing this song, and it can be, but i think it applies more broadly. This song is about anything that, even just at the begining, you realized it was going to end too soon. It could be a hobby, a friendship, a relationship, a job, a place, an event, anything you feel pationitely about, and anything you know will end, whether it be tomorrow, next week, next year, or in ten years, you feel it's too soon. There are certain times in your life when you will realize the end will come for this, and no matter what you try, how much you don't want it to end, no matter what you do, it will end, and your life will change, and you will hurt like you've never thought possible. When this happens, i think of what someone once told me: Invest. Invest in what you're doing, when it's what you love, and you may lose everything, but if you love it, you'll invest and never regret a second if it's lost. You have to be able to love something before you will allow yourself to invest in it, and that in itself is an amazing thing, because then, you never really lost it, only had the pleasure of ever experiencing it. No regret.

  General Comment:this song means so much to me. i think its about when people who are close have to let go, whether its friends, a relationship, or a summer fling. i had a summer fling with a guy this summer at camp and letting go was painful. we both really fell for each other and we had to let go of each other because staying together during the year would be too hard. we remind each other that we miss each other every night and its only been 2 weeks and im broken. i think of him whenever i hear this song. this is for you ryan <3

  My Interpretation:To me, this song speaks to me as someone who's reunited with an old lover temporarily. He wants to know "Are you cool with just tonight" because he's going to be "gone for good again" very soon. He doesn't want to have to leave, which is why he says, "Can't I stay an hour or two or more?" He doesn't want to, but he has to let her go.

  General Comment:It's amazing to look back and see that ppl posted comments in 2002 about this song and now in 2008 this song is still touching ppl. That's how u know that songs are awesome and really good, when they can stand throughout time and still ppl can relate to it years later.

  General Comment:to me, this song is one of those the writer wrote for his reason but can be related to by anyone. My relation is the night before i left to go to iraq i was in a room with my best friend and this song started playing and everytime i hear it i think back to that one night where both of us were at our worst.

  General Comment:I heard this song today at work and it actually hit me and made me think of the meaning behind it. I feel that this song is definitely about having to do the hard thing in your life and let someone in your life who you love or care about go. Right now it especially hits home for me because one of my really good friends left for basic training for the army today. This song brought me back to our last night together and me not wanting to let him go even though you know that you have to and it's the right thing to do. I think this song is ment to make you reflect on the past and know that it's gone but it's not forgotten and you have to hold onto the memories even if it was just one night or a life time.
  
  As some post say it could be a one night stand; but what is the meaning behind that night? If done for the right reasons don't look back on it in regreat just remembrance.

  General Comment:i can't listen to this song w/o crying, i know that it's about a one night stand but it means a lot more to me than that, i'm just a freshman in high school but i can already feel time slipping away from me

  (to me this is like my first year of high school, i've experienced a lot in this time and i'm sad that it's comming to an end, i can relate to every line, i've felt alive, i knew i was going to be sad when the year ending but i didn't know it was going to be like this, it's at the time of the year where everything is winding down and i'm saying goodbye to everyone, but i would gladly have a few more weeks of school just to spend time with everyone)

  (i can relate this too with the feeling of ending the year and signing year books with the first line, the second line is me exactly right now, i never want this year to end even though i logically know it has to)

  (this will be my last day, everything will seem to be frozen in time to me and i will want the day to be a few hours longer, i'll miss my friends and i won't want to leave them b/c i know a few of them are moving away over the summer and i won't see them again)
  
  even though i'm only a freshman, i wan't this song to be played at my graduation, it describes me now, it will still describe me then

  General Comment:this song probly is about a one night stand, but i think it means a lot more than that. at least, it does to me. it reminds me of all the good times i had with my boyfriend, and all the wonderful conversations we had. even tho we are only friends now, i still love him very much, and wen i start feeling sad about it, i listen to this song and cry. and it makes me feel better. it shows that you are going to miss the things you love most in life, and that even if you dont take it for granted, and you cherish it before its gone, everything good in life has to leave sometime. nothing lasts forever, except true love, but only the feeling, not the relationship.
