I took my love, and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'Til the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life
Mm mm

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
even children get older
and I'm getting older, too

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
even children get older
and I'm getting older, too
Oh, I'm getting older, too

Ahh ahh, take my love, take it down
Ahh ha, climbed a mountain and turned around
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide will bring it down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide will bring it down
oh oh the landslide will bring it down

    Song Meaning

Stevie Nicks spoke of the song in a 2004 interview that it was about her ex-boyfriend 'Lindsey Buckingham' who she broke up with in the 70's. Stevie says "It was written in 1973 at a point where Lindsey & I had driven to Aspen for him to rehearse for two weeks with Don Everly." She decided to stay in Aspen for 3 months while Lindsey went on the road. She goes on to say they had recorded this album together (her & Lindsey) & it had just dropped & for some reason no one like it & she was frustrated. They thought of giving up on their musical dream but instead she chose to continue (thank god) this song is all about that time. Within a year, Mick Fleetwood called her & Lindsey and her were soon in Fleetwood Mac.
