I took my love, and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'Til the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life
Mm mm

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
even children get older
and I'm getting older, too

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
even children get older
and I'm getting older, too
Oh, I'm getting older, too

Ahh ahh, take my love, take it down
Ahh ha, climbed a mountain and turned around
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide will bring it down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide will bring it down
oh oh the landslide will bring it down

It is a woman in her twenties getting older and reflecting on the relationship she had when younger and realising that she has changed and she needs to take responsibility for her own life and not be so dependent on her lover from her teen years. I think we know who she is talking about. It is a song that I as a young woman really related to because I heard it aged 17 and I left home and was a young nurse with a lot of responsibility. It reminded me of the changes in my own life at the time, plus Stevie was so beautiful. I could not stop looking at her picture on the album cover.
