Lyrics for Fat Bottomed Girls as interpreted by Novartza

Fat Bottomed Girls Lyrics
Are you gonna take me home tonight
Ah, down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls, you make the rockin world go round

Hey, I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew life before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat Fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me, Hey hey!

I've been singing with my band
Across the wire, across the land
I seen every blue eyed floozy on the way
But their beauty and their style
Went kind of smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies everytime, come on

Oh, won't you take me home tonight
Oh, down beside your red firelight
Oh, and you give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls, you make the rockin world go round (twice)

Hey, listen here
Now your mortgages and homes
I've got stiffness in your bones
Ain't no beauty queens in this locality (I tell you)
Oh, but I still get my pleasure
Still get my greatest treasure
Heap big woman you gonna make a big man out of me

Oh, you gonna take me home tonight (please)
Oh, down beside that red firelight
Oh, you gonna let it all hang out
Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin world go round
(2 times)
Get on your bikes and ride
Fat bottomed girls (2 times)

If any of my friends are down about their size, I just remind them that no-one wrote a song called Thin Bottomed Girls.

i dunno where i heard this, but i heard this song has nothing to do with women, considering the members of Queen were gay, so why would they want women???

i heard this was really about their guitars, you know, cuz they're "fatter" on the bottom than at the neck. and the whole song is about how their obsession with his guitar got them involved with rock and made them famous, and the guitars really do make the rockin world go round!

Calzone197 -- true Freddie WAS bisexual and in the beginning Roger Taylor was flambouyant - the BAND itself wasn't homosexual. I also must point out that the whole band got married (aside from Freddie). Personally- I think this song is about .. *gasp* Fat Bottomed Girls. I know .. its crazy. lol They (Brian wrote it) are just telling you what they like-

On the outside, this seemingly innocent, all-well-intended song appears to be about the love of ‘fat-bottomed girls’. This is not the case. A darker, sinister side lurks behind what was once considered the most controversial song in musical history. During the Cold War, communication between American spies posted out in communist Russia and the US government was limited and a risky business. Phone lines were tight, mail was verging impossible. Soon newer, more excessive methods were been applied. The song ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’, believe it or not, was jotted down by US military operatives and handed over to Freddie Mercury, God bless his soul. The song was a cleverly constructed military code using ground breaking methods, including advanced Morse code messaging on guitar rifts. The line ‘Fat Bottom girls you make the rocking world go round’ was actually an analogy for ‘Gerald, your wife has been raped’. With the world of music keeping its stand in Russia, the song was indeed heard by our boys in blue. However, as many plans do, operation ‘Gerald, your wife has been raped’ had its flaws. The spies were unable to recognise Morse code and were oblivious to all else the song had to acquaint with. The spies would commonly listen to Fred chant his way through the song time after time, swinging their hips and swaying their heads. Eventually, with the passing of time, Russian intelligence picked up on the coding methods, proceeding to fire down any potential spies with machine gun squads.
Some declare, that in the still of the night, beyond the graveyard, by the hill, one can still hear the heartbroken voice of darling Gerald’s wife cry through the nights sky, “He’s dead now!”

i just had a big debate with my stepdad about how much the media influences girls today on their image. they set such a standard for us. we were in the car and he changed the radio to a really old station. the song on it was something about skinny girls. it was saying:"i love skinny girls". it really pissed me off, because, even though i am a skinny teenager myself, i strongly believe that everyone should be accepted for who they are. then he told me about this song. i had never heard of it before he mentioned it. just looking at the lyrics now, this song brings a smile to my face. i am naturally skinny because i am a dancer, and i'm active, but even if i did have a big bum, i wouldn't care. as the saying goes, if you've got it, flaunt it! this song rocks!!!

what a great musical composition! I'll make it brief..I was hangin' with our drummer at his restaurant..talking about radio gaga....then like a sign from above the acappella..."are you gonna take me home tonight..etc...blasted out of the radio like a new religon....it's been a decade since we heard this song...and we had been looking for something new to play in our basement sets....so that night I turned my 16year old onto the song...he was awe-struck.....so I stuck him behind the drums....grabbed my ax...and made our own history....The band wants to play it live now....not sure about the effect it will have on some...all in all this song rocks...god's speed Freddie

Every few weeks, I download a new Queen song that I just can't get over. I never stop listening to it even after I find a new song.

This is the first of those songs, and I have to say that this is the COOLEST song ever, no matter what anyone says.

It sounds like they are singing, rocket world. The song is all about sex. Question: Did the cover of the first LP or 7" that had this song on it, have a rocket? Anyway rockin or rocket, this song ROCKS!

A great and funny song about the larger ladies. I think that all Queen songs should be left as Queen songs. I don't want any rapper or rocker to butcher this or any other of their songs. They did them the way they were supposed to be the first time. They were the one and only, and music as good is just not done by anyone anymore. Queen is proof that great talent did at one time exist.

I agree-- no remakes. The Antigone Rising version on the Killer Queen compilation was ok but proved that only Queen can do this to perfection.
Does anyone know what Brian's wife or wives looked like??? Specifically their lower half? That would get to the bottom of this. haha
Actually, the guitar analogy sounds really good. I'd buy it. Just like with We Will Rock You, there are three verses: for kids, young adults, and old adults, but the guitars always stay the sure bet in his life (especially versus the roadies with their pounds of makeup).
On the other hand, the joy and sleaziness makes the song. So go figure.

I have loved this song since 1978 when I first heard it. As the PROUD owner of the fattest ass in the southern hemisphere, I consider this my theme song. How wonderful that as far back as the 70s some guys weren't afraid to stand up and be bold about what they dig. Rock on, fat bottomed girls and fat bottom lovers!

"i've never liked queen, and this is one of the reasons. yea, freddie had a good voice, but to me they were no more than a good novelty band." artless, ur saying queen is nothing but a novelty band? HA thats a load of bs. would a novelty band have millions of fans and songs recognized all over the world? would a novelty band go down in history as one of the greatest bads ever? i DONT THINK SO. queen is effin wicked and no one can change that. they lay down some awesome riffs and blast out some wicked lyrics, and i consider them my second fav band (next to led zep) i grew up on queen cuz my dad constantly listened to it. he and i both kno that queen effin rules. ROCK ON QUEEN, AND ROCK ON FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS!!!!
