Lyrics for Don't Look Back in Anger as interpreted by dsfire

Don't Look Back in Anger Lyrics
Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
A better place to play
You said that you'd never been
But all the things that you've seen
Slowly fade away

So I start a revolution from my bed
'cause you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside 'cause summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off you face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

And so Sally can wait
She knows it's too late
As we're walking on by
Her soul slides away
But don't look back in anger
I heard you say

Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows
If it's night or day
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a rock and roll band
Who'll throw it all away

I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed
'cause you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside 'cause summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off you face
'cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait
She knows it's too late
As she's walking on by
My soul slides away
But don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
I heard you say
At least not today

Everything exists in our minds, and everything fades away. When we realize this we "find a better place to play."

I really think that this song is about peace. Not only does it include a direct quote from Lennon about the bed-in, but it also shares the same beginning chord progression as "Imagine". The title is simple, don't look back in anger. It's about not following the trend of friends, or even culture that seems to encourage us all to fight. It's optimistic about being even-tempered and peaceful.

The lyrics "Please dont put your life in the hands, of a rock'N'roll band and throw it all away"

Is inspired by his mum, as she actually said them words to him.
She inspired him to write one line in this song and another line in "Liver Forever"
But i dont know what the line in Live Forever is.

Does anyone else?

aw, that's cute that it was said by his mommy.
maybe this means that the whole song is about him leaving his old like and hometown and becoming famous??

-the brains I had went to my head-

like the fame got to his head maybe, and he's losing his humbleness and becoming cocky?

I think this song is about bullying. Basically, someone is bullying someone else but that person doesn't care.

I was bullied non stop in school so I relate of songs to bullying.

Well I believe Noel has no idea what the song means, which is fine. Sometime the best songs come from fragments of things you are thinking about or memories, they do not always have to fit the conventional package. The "revolution from my bed" lines come from Lennons "Bed in" probably, but, I have seen a LOT of interviews of Noel and there is a common thread. He has a complex about "not really working" but being rich, which manifests itself as his perceived laziness, so, a revolution from his bed, would be doing something big without the effort. Noel has said the" stand up beside the fireplace" lines are from his mother taking pictures of the family and telling them "take that look from off your face" For some mystical reason from the very first time I heard the chorus I thought Sally was the Sally from Sally Cinnamon? Dont ask me why, but I still think it. Maybe it's cause i seem to recall noel say that when he heard Sally Cinnamon for the first time, he knew he could write songs.
Who knows?
If it was obvious, it would be no fun.

Ive always perceived this song to be about John Lennon. I mean instantly I saw some sort of connection for the line, "I'll start a revolution from my bed." I see revolution being a reference to the beatles song and obviously starting it from my bed is a reference to John and Yoko's Bed In. I also see the rock in roll band line to be change in perspective on John Lennons part. At first john was a rock n roll super star who loved rock n roll music. but once he realized his fame could be used to change the world for the better, that power TOTALLY took presidence over just writing music. He began protesting and writing music with a true humanitarian message. And I think this is one reason why John and Paul had such a huge falling out at the end of the beatles because John wanted to do something Bigger and better and viewed Paul as being a sellout that just wrote songs that would get air time. Now, dont get on my ass for making this whole explanation about an Oasis song, be about the beatles, Cause anyone whos THE SLIGHTEST Oasis fans knows they try their best to emmulate the band they consider to be the best that ever was. So who knows...

i feel this song is about rejection from someone most likely a girl and the anger that goes with. however moving on from that girl and her later wanting you back but it is too late cos u have moved to better things hence:

And so Sally can wait
She knows it's too late
As we're walking on by
Her soul slides away
But don't look back in anger
I heard you say
