Lyrics for Under the Bridge as interpreted by dsfire

Under the Bridge Lyrics
Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel like my only friend
Is the city I live in, the city of angels
Lonely as I am, together we cry

I drive on her streets because she's my companion
I walk through her hill because she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds and she kisses me windy
I never worry, now that is a lie

I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way

It's hard to believe that there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe that I'm all alone
At least I have her love, the city she loves me
Lonely as I am, together we cry

I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way

(Under the bridge downtown)
Is where I drew some blood
(Under the bridge downtown)
I could not get enough
(Under the bridge downtown)
Forgot about my love
(Under the bridge downtown)
I gave my life away

Some people say that “Under the Bridge” is about lead singer Anthony Kiedis' addiction to heroin. When he says "she" he is referring to heroin and when he is talking about the "city he lives in" he is talking about his mental state while he is on the drug heroin.
Others people say that “Under the Bridge” is about lead singer Anthony Kiedis’ addiction to heroin and what it was like when he was on it. When he says “she/her” he is referring to the city, Los Angeles, which is the “city he lives in” and her “streets he drives on” and he also “ walks through her hills”. When he talks about being “under the bridge” it is said that, under a bridge somewhere in downtown Los Angeles is where he started taking drugs like heroin hence “he drew some blood” and “could not get enough” and became addicted hence “he gave his life away” to the drugs. i believe the others.
cuz i fink anthony is soooo yummmy

Raw134 is right. Also got some lyric adjustments that need to be made. A song like this cannot have any errors here. I found 2 minor ones, both at the end part.
If you listen REALLY carefully you'll notice just before it goes "under the bridge downtown", there is a small part that you can just hear that goes "one time".
Also with the final line of (Under the bridge downtown) I gave my life away
it goes I twice. So the whole last part should be corrected to:

One time

(Under the bridge downtown)
Is where I drew some blood!
(Under the bridge downtown)
I could not get enough!
(Under the bridge downtown)
Forgot about my love!
(Under the bridge downtown)
I... I gave my life away!

Who agrees with this?

Sorry, the I twice part was the in the live version of Under The Bridge in Hyde Park I think. But there is also another big part missing I just realised. Ill put all corrections here:

Chorus:
I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love take me all the way
Yeh, yeh yeh!
Oh no, no no yeh yeh!
Love me I say yeh yeh!

One time

(Under the bridge downtown)
Is where I drew some blood
(Under the bridge downtown)
I could not get enough
(Under the bridge downtown)
Forgot about my love
(Under the bridge downtown)
I gave my life away

actually I think the 'Is where I drew some blood' lyric is about after a hit is taken, when the needle gets taken out some blood seeps out the wound.

Yup, you hardcore fan,

too bad that's not what the song means/

And whoever said it's about suicide..because of "the city of angels"

no...sorry

Everyone else that said it's about his heroine addiction is right, "where I drew some blood" someone said blood seeps out, and that's right.

and someone also said city of angels = LA thats also right =D

yay

and it sort of os about sucide if you think about it as jack irons wasnt really himself back when hillel died and may have wanted to kill himself or maybe thats another reason why john left the band and bacame a junkei!!!!
