A scrub is a guy that think he's fine
And is also known as a buster
Always talkin' about what he wants
And just sits on his broke ass
So (no)

I don't want your number (no)
I don't want to give you mine and (no)
I don't want to meet you nowhere (no)
I don't want none of your time and (no)

[Chorus]
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best friend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best friend's ride
Trying to holler at me

But a scrub is checkin' me
But his game is kinda weak
And I know that he cannot approach me
cause I'm lookin' like class and he's lookin' like trash
Can't get wit' no deadbeat ass
So (no)

I don't want your number (no)
I don't want to give you mine and (no)
I don't want to meet you nowhere (no)
I don't want none of your time (no)

[Chorus]

If you don't have a car and you're walking
Oh yea son I'm talking to you
If you live at home wit' your momma
Oh yes son I'm talking to you (baby)
If you have a shorty but you don't show love
Oh yes son I'm talking to you
Wanna get with me with no money
Oh no I don't want no (oh)

No scrub
No scrub (no no)
No scrub (no no no no no)
No scrub (no no)
No

[Chorus:Repeat x4]

General Comment:Conceited? Vain? Absolutely! But moreover its incredibly vulgar, trashy and tacky but that's to be expected of modern hip-hop/R&B. I'm pretty sick of the gawdy flaunting of wealth by hip-hop artists for the last decade. WTF ever happened to dark, gritty, gansta rap? I remember when rap was RAW and about Real Life. Now its just about sex, money, and booze. I will admit that video is pretty cool, though. Its OBVIOUS that chicks won't put up with guys freeloading off 'em but such chicks have every intention of freeloading off of guys! And FTR, idntfcklosers==FAKE ASS HO.

General Comment:this song was controversial during its time because it portrayed women as gold-diggers who just look for money in a relationship (this is one of the many ways the song can be interpreted). i personally agree with posters before me (klinky / idntfcklosers / honestfi) - whenever i listened to this song, i always interpreted it as a woman (who was probably good-looking and had a future laid out for her) being tired of getting picked up by trashy, jerky assholes that weren't getting anywhere. "tryin' to holler at me" is indication of a guy who resorts to lowly cheap ways to get booty. i'm not sure which woman would ever want that - sure it's picky, but it's not conceited.

General Comment:The song really isn't conceited, I think the song just wants someone who is a decent human being, though I see that it could be interpreted differently. There are people out there who do live at home & even have wives & girlfriends and they're nice people, they've just hit hard times or are saving for their own house.

There are also guys who sit around all day watch TV in their underwear and don't help out around the house or work. There are guys who do work but treat their girlfriends like property. So I think that's what they're suggesting as a scrub. Also someone noted that 'Scrub' could be a reference to a game being played to pick up a random girl.

Warren67>> Hopefully what you say is really true and you're not just using that as a pitiful excuse. There are truly some people out there who have disadvantages that may prevent them from obtaining a job, a place of their own or a car, using it as an excuse to be lazy if you're truly not disadvantaged would be very "scrub" like. ;)

General Comment:There are some people who can't seem to get a job, a place of their own, or their own set of wheels. And sadly, I'm one of them. Not because I failed in life, but It's because of society oppressing me.

General Comment:This song is not conceited. They don't want scrubs.
You know, the ones who hit on you hanging out of the car. But don't have a real job, don't know how to treat their girlfriends, and still live at home because they can't get their act together.

Who wants that? No one. So are they conceited? No

General Comment:I think some of you guys have missed the point of this song. "Scrub" is a dating game - you get a mate to drive you around town and you shout at the first girl that takes your fancy, to try and get her into the car for a date (or anything else). She isn't being vain or patronising at all - she's summed up the practice nicely as being cheap and trashy. Only for the desperate and can't be bothered to get of ass in the car.

General Comment:Its not freeloafing off a chick Feddy, these chicks want to freeload.

The whole song is only saying one thing 'if you dont have money i dont want to know' an all too common stand point..
