Belligerent ghouls
Run Manchester schools
Spineless swines
Cemented minds
Sir leads the troops
Jealous of youth
Same old suit since nineteen sixty two
He does the military two-step down
The nape of my neck
I want to go home
I don't want to stay
Give up education
As a bad mistake
Mid-week on the playing fields
Sir thwacks you on the knees
Knees you in the groin
Elbow in the face
Bruises bigger than dinner plates
I want to go home
I don't want to stay
Da-da-da
Da-da-da

Belligerent ghouls
Run Manchester schools
Spineless bastards all
Sir leads the troops
Jealous of youth
Same old jokes since nineteen- oh- two
He does the military two-step down
The nape of my neck
I want to go home
I don't want to stay
Give up life
As a bad mistake
Please excuse me from gym
I've got this terrible cold coming on
He grabs and devours
He kicks me in the showers
Kicks me in the showers
And he grabs and devours
I want to go home
I don't want to stay
Run Manchester schools
Spineless swines
Cemented minds

Am I the only one who finds this song remarkably sexual? I just think the ending is filled with some kind of dirty lust - the howling is really sensual. The song sounds to me like there is a guy that Morrissey is in some kind of bad relationship with and he wants to go, he doesn't want to stay, but the nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh's are him expressing his urges. The lyric, "He does the military two-step down the nape of my neck." It's so god damn sexual. Someone back me up here.
I don't see that.

One thing I have considered (concerning the last verse) is that it might be discussing sexual abuse by teachers alongside physical abuse.

I'm not convinced that was the intention, only that I have considered the possibility... but that there is no intention of being overtly "sexual" as much as disturbing and perverse... because, even if you can easily make sexual associations with "He does the military two step down the nape of my neck", it's literally talking about forced sex/sexuality (in other words, rape and punishment/derision to keep a child silent about it).

The part about them being "spineless bastards", to me, lends creedance to the theory as it's a pretty good way to describe most abusers of children who attempt to hide it by threatening their victims... Still, I am not confident enough in that theory to say I think it's totally accurate.

...........and I'm pretty sure Moz isn't that into BDSM and talking about his sexual escapades, or at least not discussing them in his writing... (responding to genxdude91's ridonkulous suggestion).
@nagyovafan it is what it is to you
@nagyovafan won't back you up because you seem like a fan that finds anything Morrissey does or says as feeding you desires
@nagyovafan No, i was a pupil at the school (although not at the same time as Morrissey) it was physical abuse, i never came across (Or heard of any) any sexual abuse in the 5 years i was a pupil at St Marys...Having said that the daily physical abuse was enough!
