I close my eyes
Only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity

Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind

Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh

Now, don't hang on
Nothin' lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy

Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
(All we are is dust in the wind)
Dust in the wind
(Everything is dust in the wind)
Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

Yeah, in Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Adventure, their time machine takes them back to ancient Greece, and they visit a lecture of Socrates', who is standing there saying the same (get it?) thing all those years ago that Kansas wrote for Bill and Ted here in the third millennium. Socrates was not a big repeater of Heraclitus, who apparently said "all is change" (even that? always true?) But recognizing the impermanence of the things we hold on to in this world is preparation for either philosophy or Jesus, as the reader who compared Ecclesiastes notes.
