Born on a different cloud
From the ones that have burst 'round town
It's no surprise to me
That you're classless, clever and free

Loaded just like a gun
You're the hero that's still unsung
Living on borrowed time
You're my sun, and you're gonna shine

Talking to myself again
This time I think I'm getting through
It's funny how you think
It's funny how, it's funny how when you do...

Born on a different cloud
From the ones that have burst round town
It's no surprise to me
That you're classless, clever and free

Lonely soul
Busy working overtime
Nothing ever gets done
Especially when your hands are tied

Lonely soul
Baking up your mother's pride
Nothing ever gets done
Not until your war's won

Born on a different cloud
You're born on a different cloud
Born on a different cloud
Born on a different cloud
Born on a different cloud
Born on a different cloud
Born on a different cloud
Born on a different cloud

Na na na na na na na

General Comment:the part that says " not until your war's won" sounds like reminding of HOW I WON THE WAR, a movie in which john lennon acted.

General Comment:Ya know, there's nothing wrong with showing your influence but it seems like these guys use other artist's lyrics in like half of their songs. That's a little much.

But did anyone notice Johnny Marr playing guitar on this song? Johnny Marr is the man

General Comment:This seems to be a total tribute to Lennon.

I think he's talking about Lennon the whole time. He praises him throughout the song and how Lennon is his hero/inspiraion, and how his message still lives on while his (Lennon's) job (view of society and message of love and peace) still needs to be carried out. Liam feels as if he's the one who has the torch and continue the message.

General Comment:Lennon references are by no means hard to imagine. Funniest thing is when Noel heard it first he didn't believe that Liam wrote it. Then said it was going to be the first single of the album the ''ass fell out of his trousers'' ha ha gold. That was on the interview for HC that came with the CD..

General Comment:I can't believe no one's pointed out the other lyrical rip-off...

"Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy
working overtime" is a line from "Happiness is a Warm Gun"

Liam reworks the lyrics a bit, but the "working overtime" line sounds exactly the same as The Beatles made it sound.

I still love this song, though.

General Comment:This is by far my favorite Liam-written song. I still find it hard to believe he wrote it, it seems waaaay out of his league. I hope he writes more songs like this; long, with amazing lyrics.

General Comment:I think's it's a great song, one of my favourites off Heathen Chemistry and I was amazed that Liam wrote it, it's a big step upwards from "Little James". It does soundd quite Lennony but thats great, it's not like Lennon can sound like Lennon any more, Liam may as well

General Comment:i love this song... and while the lyrics are downright lennonesque, it is just admirable as it is obvious that he doesn't take his influences for granted.

General Comment:This is as Lennonesque as one can get. Good job Liam. This song is about him and his son, saying "we're born on a different cloud" kind of alienating himself from society. To me, it has elements of the beatles songs "happiness is a warm gun" and "while my guitar gently weeps" both of which are from the white album, and oddly enough are right next to each other in the tracklisting. Go figure.
