    General Comment:I always detected a hint of jealousy in Closer, and after hearing this I'm convinced I was right. I never thought of it as a love song, but I think he might have mistaken it for love. I think he idolizes her and is somewhat addicted to the way she makes him feel. To him she is perfect, or at least he sees her as perfect in comparison, and while fucking her he becomes her ("taste you", "feel you", during sex you're so close to a person, if you're not a part of them then, you'll never be. Basically, while you're at it you melt into one, and this is what I mean when I say he's becoming her). He is deeply depressed and can't give her anything but shit, and I think he is aware of the fact that he's using her, and not necessarily just for sex, but for everything she does to make him feel better.

    I might have lost myself in my own trail of thought back there, but basically (and roughly) I think this song (and Closer) is a more complicated (please, I'm not complaining) way to tell us that he does as Peaches tells us to and fucks the pain away.

    General Comment:Well in a way it could be wanting to be closer to god. A way of being closer to God, whatever God may be. Like maybe if you can feel god, you can feel peace. He loves this girl so much almost like an obsession he wants to be a part of this most perfect being. To him she is his gateway to God. He feels God through her, he feels peace.

    I've always taken it as love song. Its kinda violent seeming & I think that comes from his maybe depression/extreme self hatred.

    Well maybe that's not the actual meaning, but this is how its always made me feel.

    General Comment:I don't really think the song is Gay or Otherwise. I think it speaks of a Man, trying to find a way to connect on a human level with someone, anyone and cannot seem to get there. In his desperation he tears himself down, until he is just his core being, a raged animal that can only vent his frustration through sexual desires. He is screaming in rage, because he thinks if he can find one true contact in his life, that can make him feel something, that he would feel closer to God. He feels inhuman and unworthy and alone.

    General Comment:The concept of being "closer to God" actually refers to getting closer to the feeling of being a God. Through sex, like, feeling above someone else. In doing so, escaping from oneself.

    General Comment:Well actually ubertalldude... atheisism is not anti-christian... Atheisism is the the absence of belief all together... and agnostic, there is two different kinds Agnostic-Theist, and Agnostic-Athiest. Agnostic-Theist is not sure if he fully bevieves is a god or not, and Agnostic-Atheist is not sure if he fully dis-believes there is a god...

    Off that subject, I love this song, and Im going to have to agree with Kaicille Eris, with the whole getting closer to god via sex... But I also a different opinion on the lyrics, I think(besides getting closer to god through sex) Trent is not saying that he believes in god, because Buddism has no true god, only an Idol, and Buddists believe they have souls, same with Hindus... So the whole-

    "you can have my absence of faith"

    Is saying he is Atheist, which I have already explained...

    General Comment:ubertalldude, Strippers dance to Closer.. slowly.

    I love this version, it's an angrier, more aggressive version of Closer. I like the different chorus "I wanna fuck you, I wanna taste you, etc." most of all ^_^
