    My Opinion:I don't know if anyone's realized this before, but I believe there's some "artwork" in the song titles, especially this one which follows right after "Blue and Yellow" on the album. Bert once said this song was for Quinn, about their friendship in a loving way. What seems too obvious is that one would be blue, the other yellow, and together, they are green, thus "Greener with the scenery" which follows right after. It makes me think about "greener on the other side", that "green" is associated to something better, more complete, joyful.

    General Comment:This song seems to be completely about an abusive relationship, particularly an emotionally abusive relationship. The whole circular motion of the song, ripping the heart out, putting it back, loving even though it isn't fair to the one loving, playing the game, doing it a million times. This song seems to capture exactly the abusive relationship I went through. I kept letting the abuser back into my life. We went in absolute circles. Things would "end" and he'd claim to never want to see or talk to me again, then 2 hours later he would need me more than ever. We went through this over and over again. My heart would be ripped out then given back to me constantly. It wasn't fair, but I loved him. I was stuck in the circles. This song captures the abuse perfectly.

    General Comment:To me, this song is about how he has a girlfriend who messes around with his feelings, even if she dosn't mean to, and she always makes him feel so horrible but then at one point makes him happy again, but its all unintentional...It's a cycle, and hes "running around in circles," and pulling his hair in frustration becasue its driving him crazy.
    as for the fingernail phase thing, I think he means he's picking at wounds that should be healing...Just a theory :P

    Song Meaning:I think everyone can relate to this song, everyone has been in SOME KIND of situation like this weither thay want to admit it or not, its human nature to wandt what we cant have, so you like someone over and over thinking something will change, but it never does and you just let yourself down...

    General Comment:I think the title "greener with the scenery" is actually more literal that most of you think.

    The word "greener" when referring to a person means "naive"--the title reveals that this person, in their current situation, is naive because of the things and people around them... which makes sense with the rest of the song.

    General Comment:this song is about love how you can love someone and they say they love you then go out with someone else and you kno you need to leave but you love them so much you can't.at least thats what i think of when i hear this song i relate it to me ive been through this
