Well she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running wild
Butterflies and zebras
And moonbeams and a fairy tale
That's all she ever thinks about
Riding the wind

When I'm sad she comes to me
With a thousand smiles she gives to me free
It's alright she says...it's alright
Take anything you want from me
Anything

Fly on little wing
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Fly on little wing

General Comment:Before you criticize the quality of Hendrix's live songs compare "Little Wing" from his live "Hendrix In The West" album to the studio version from "Axis-Bold As Love".
IMO the live version is clearly superior to the studio recording.

Song Meaning:It's one of the most beautiful songs I think I've ever heard. It's about that someone who is so pure at heart, so pure of soul that she picks you up no matter what, that she loves you no matter what. She would give you everything of herself, of her soul for you to be happy.

General Comment:i want this cover by srv played at my funeral..the whole song is a solo but the highs and lows of the song kinda dictate life. we all have our highs and lows; especially me. so when i pass i want this song to represent that..and because I fuckin love this song.

General Comment:Not one person discussed the meaning of this song?? Its the same old SRV/Jimi Battle. Anyone who knows music knows there is no comparison. Its music. It comes from inside and people who compare musical geniouses are the same people they talk about in the song "dogs" by Pink Floyd. Look that one up. We all need a home.
This song to me is about an outlet for Jimi since he never really got one besides music. it a song to uplift him above all of the pigs trying to control him and make him into what they want. Must be massively liberating to play. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace" -Jimi

General Comment:Bluesy-Rock is my favorite kind of rock, and SRV does it best. wish people still played to guitar like they used to...

    R.I.P SRV + Jimi Hendrix

General Comment:Yea I agree man, there seems to be a lot of unwarranted hostility. I dont think there should be a debate regarding the two guitar players' skill; or which one had a larger influence for that matter. The two still supersede the seemingly untalented guitar players we have in most of today's shitty music (fall out boy and the like).

    RIP the both of them!

General Comment:just read through the whole thread too... annnd
jimi was the first, made beautiful music and set the stage in a wonderful manner.
stevie was a technical genius and smoothed out the great jimi song in this case.
i think they would have loved to play together.
Why questions about "better"? That's like standing on earth and trying to figure out which star in the sky is farther away with no telescope or science and shit.

General Comment:i love the original hendrix but stevie's version really speaks to me in a much more mellow manner, a lot more bluesy, and i loooooove it
