Lyrics for Anarchy For Sale as interpreted by Ice

Anarchy For Sale Lyrics
Step right up folks!

Anarchy for sale!
T-shirts only 10 dollars
Badges only 3.50
I nicked the design, never asked the band
I never listen to them either

Buy! Buy! Buy! from Circle A
Like hula hoops, it's a disposable craze
Another fast-food fad to throw away
Get your
Anarchy For sale
Anarchy For Sale
Anarchy For Sale

Sheep unite!
Get your cuddly boots and studs
Be sure to rebel in proper style
Rebel along the paths we pick
Out of fear of peer pressure we create

Hey you! -
Get those flyers off my wall
No commie peace shit in my boutique
No one here cares what that all means
Our
Anarchy For Sale
Anarchy For Sale

Our town sucks
Our scene rules
To belong you must buy into it
So we sold you metal spike bracelets

C'mon let's see a good fight

That's
Anarchy For Sale
Anarchy For Sale
Anarchy For Sale

So true - this is even more relevant than ever, now we're all being sold nu-metal, kiddie-punk, whatever. REBEL! Don't listen to the motherfuckers who try to tell you 'how to be punk' - do it the way you think is cool.

This song is about the commercialization of the punk rock movement.

I fucking LOVE the way this song mocks the people who are buying in so that they don't sell out. It's fucking hilarious. People these days are all too consumed with the whole "trying to be different just like everyone else" thing that it amuses me and makes me physically ill all at the same time. Jello is a genius. SUPPORT AN ALTERNATIVE TENTACLES BAND NEAREST YOU! :)

haha Vicki. This song is so awesome, and I'm sick of the media stereotyping punk, then marketing it to the trendies. Also about how anarchy means nothing to people any more... disturbing...

Haha, there's this guy and he's got a reputation for being punk and he made me laugh cos he was standing outside the detention room singing 'anarchy, anarchy, anarchy.' Haha. One day I'm gonna ask him if he knows what it means.

One of DK's best, Jello completely understands the 'rebelling to conform' that went on before and is going on stronger today.

Yeah, today's "Punks" don't understand that it's not rebellion if it's been sanitized, censored, co-opted, mass produced for the target 12 - 16 age group and then advertized in Rolling Stone and all over MTV.

this song is especially true about todays punk-rock movement. there is so many shitty bands and dickhead retail stores that charge $20 a shirt, like fuckin hot topic. and all they realy have are shitty bands like good charlotte and taking back sunday that are all labeled as "Punk", wen they r shitty pop and emo!!!

Rebel along the paths we pick

i love that line so much. its so true. every time i go see a band at a show theres all these guys outside with their huge coloured hair and so many chunks of metal through their noses that they repel eachother like magnets. and they think theyre so goddam alternative and non conforming even though they look identical. and they sneer at eachother and think themselves more superior and "punk" because their hair is a shade brighter and they have an extra rip in their pants.

its funny that the general philosophy of "punk" is to think for yourself but there are so many rules to follow. like you have to hate the conservative party (or republicans if you're american) and you have to throw away opportunities and leave school early and have the same hairstyle and have the same clothes

who cares? wow, you kids can all look identical. nice work.

i am probably the least punk looking girl u will ever meet but i hang around with the guys who go to shows every friday and whatever. i am so sick of the posers telling me i amd not punk because i don't go out every weekend and get wasted or show up to class stoned.

this is a great song that rings really true today. there are too many kids who think they are better because the have a mohawk (which means nothing because all the jocks and preps have them now). i also hate this one girl because everyday she talks about how punk she is and how awsome MCR is (which they suck and if one more person tells me i should like that band because i'm from NJ i wil kill them!!!). finally yesterday i told her to shut up a true punk would never say they are a punk and punk is NOT something you are it is a state of mind and living. i think that is kinda what this song is about as well its saying that punk is not something you buy its they way you think and act.

i believe that we should tare this world down with anarchy and rebiuld it with socialisim, but that's just me. i don't really like violence either, but i think we need to tare down this fucked-up society and you need the violence, even if i don't condone it.
