Was this only performed at the VMA's and nowhere else? When is that fucking idiot gonna get his act together. Of course, never.

Word is that Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Matt are starting up a new band, but they need a frontman... I bet that will be better than Axl's fucking stupid new band with that Buckethead lose. What kind of idiot wear a KFC bucket? That's not freaky rock and roll shock tactics, that's stupid.

This song is really average...although a couple of the other new songs like "Madagascar" and "The Blues" are pretty good.

The album is in limbo because Axl Rose knows it is going to have to live up to the old material and it just isn't good enough. Velvet Revolver and other bands with ex-GNR members don't have to worry about that. Listen to "Oh My God" -- his new industrial direction just doesn't work.
I heard a 2002 interview with him in which he blamed the endless delays on record companies not giving preference to old bands, so poor old Axl has to produce it himself, be the A&R guy etc. Is he perhaps forgetting that his record company has sunk 13 MILLION dollars into a record that will probably never surface (even if it did, it would undoubtedly tank artistically and commercially)?

I always really respected and admired Axl Rose - but what the hell is this?! He can't replace EVERY SINGLE MEMBER (apart from himself) of a band, and still call it the same name!

Then again, the other, original GNR members had to sign over the rights to the name, didn't they...? But - I'd still respect Axl far more if he had changed the name of this new line-up. I know he feels that the name "Guns 'n' Roses" belongs to him, but it's just so arrogant - it belongs to the others too. Not legally, 'cause they signed it over - but they sort of had to. If Axl hadn't turned into such a...control freak...the original GNR might still be together now. But in music history, the original GNR is, well, the original GNR. Replacing everyone and then producing this...stuff...practically contaminates the name "Guns 'n' Roses". At least, I think so.

I hate to have to think like that, though. Control freak or not, Axl was a musical and lyrical genius, and one of the greatest frontmen ever - of the ORIGINAL band, that is. I wish he'd realise, though - if he wants to be in a band - he has to be a MEMBER of the band, not the dictator. I hope he wakes up one day - SOON - and thinks "What the hell am I doing?!"

Most of the opinions above were formed as a result of watching a "Behind The Music" thing on the band. Just to let you know, I'm not just spouting random stuff.

I don't really like Velvet Revolver a whole lot, but naturally, you're gonna compare them to GNR, so...

Does anybody in this world actually respect Axl? the guy has gone through a lot in his life, the most obvious being his divorce from his wife. he used to sit in his house alone and cry. then all the original members of GnR left (ok, some were fired, but only because they gave abuse to Axl). he has spent the last 10 years of his life trying to get a new band up-and-running, and trying to peace together this new album, Chinese Democracy. this guy respects the fans, and tries to give them what they want. and you guys just have a go at him? are you out of your fuckin' minds?! glad I got that of my chest :-)

To me, the line 'Then you'll walk them home for the cells' sounds more like 'It's been like a walk in the park for myself'.
And when he says 'Then now you'll dig for your road back to hell', it sounds more like 'Now you're keeping your own kind in hell'. But that's just my opinion.

although i'm a big fan of G.N.R, this song sucks

mark my words when the new album comes out and blows all of this other mall rock, new age bull shit out of the water all you hipocrits will jump on the bandwagon with the rest of the world, so many of you dont appreciate axel rose because your to ignorant and simple minded to even begin to recgonize his talent, with our his unique one of a lifetime vocal ability and brilliant song lyrics, all you have is a good band, with out axel you would never have had the legend band guns n roses, u get b level bands like velvet revolver, the only reason axel watned rights for the band is because all the other members were junkies and alcholics, and he wanted the name to live on with or with out them, just wait axel is brilliant and will not put out a mediocher album, i t will take the world by storm....

HEY Mr.smart and Complex minded, we never ignored the talent of Axl but if you noticed its the "BAND" G.N.R and maybe slash and duff were junkie but they were (are) the bests of their works.
nobody except slash can create such a brilliant riffs.
without him g.n.r would'nt have todays fame
the reasons that he left the band was'nt being junkie but differences in genre of music that they wanted to go on. the remarkable point is that all of the others left too. so its th Axl thats mind-fucking

Isn't this supposed to be about the song "Chinese Democracy"? Ha. I thought so.

The riff is killer in here. Straight, up in your face rocker, yet with a deep meaning. Great song, I hope the album opens with this. A great opener is the first step for a great record.

It is way too easy to say this song is about the political situation in China...

This is Axl having fun with the fans. He says he is going to take as long as he wants and there is nothing we can do about it. We will end up hearing it from somebody else (in the form of leaks).

Who cares what you think about the band members, the old vs the new and blah blah blah... Discuss the song and it's meaning...

No axl bashing here. IF your bashing him, you are simply uninformed. For those not up to date, the major delay in the album is due to the change in lineups, record label demands, GnR's former manager (now fired), and the fact that 4 albums worth of material has been recorded and what was thought to be one album is now a trilogy of albums to be released between 08-12.

i'm so glad i was not the only one who thinks that way!!! people are always talkin about him, mostly complainning... i don't know if axl has bipolar; i believe he is being what he is. he's a real jerk and i love this jerk as long as he plays the piano and sings november rain!! if he gives u music, u choose to listen or not!!! the thing is that simple.

This should be the theme for the Bejing Olympics.
Seriously, this lyrics are very aggressive and biting and very effective. We all wanna take a stab at China, but Axl doesn't seem to have even composed an argument here. It's just "fuck the Chinese govournment". Not that there's anything wrong with that.
