The love line is never straight and narrow
Unless your love is tried and true
We take a chance with new beginnings
Still we try win or lose
Take the highs with the blues

Always one more
You're never satisfied
Share one for all with you
It's only one for me
Ah, why draw the line
And meet you half the way
And you don't know
What the means, oh yeah!

I feel like a runnning politician, oh!
Just trying to please you all the time
I've given you myself with no conditions
Going wide, running long
Feeling lost but not for long...

Always one more
You're never satisfied
Share one for all with you
It's only one for me
So why draw the line
And meet you half the way
When you don't know
What that means, oh yeah!

Solo
Always one more
You're never satisfied
Share one for all with you
It's only one for me
So why draw the line
And meet you half the way
When you don't know
What that means.

I'll meet you half the way
Whoa yeah.
I'll meet you half the way
Whoa yeah.

General Comment:I always hurd 5150 was written mostly with Roth still in mind as the frontman, thats why its basically one of the last good albums, that rocks in a proper fashion.

ou8 & For never had any of the cutting edge poewrhouses we were used to. I cant think back on either album and think of any one song that stands out from the pack while I can sure as hell recite every song off the VH VH debut album and always will be able too, their best imo.

General Comment:Personally i feel that DLR was easily the better between him and Sammy. Granted Sammy was a better singer but David encompasses everything that a rock star is and should be. He is a gift to everyone who has the sense to listen. Next to Freddy Mercury he is the greatest front man EVER!!! DLR forever

General Comment:I guess I'm mental, but Sammy Hagar is hands down my favorite Van Halen singer, the songs were better with him. I mean, Roth made the band popular with his antics, and he could sing, but I think during the Sammy Hagar periods, better songs were written. I think 5150 is my favorite

General Comment:The Hagar era of VH wasn't all that good for amazing songs like the Roth era, but 5150 and F.U.C.K. were very good cd's, not major hits though.

General Comment:The 51 - 50 percentage thing is a different way of looking at it but I don't think that's the FULL meaning. The love conflict is true because he takes about someone never being satisfied and how he has to please her all the time.

I believe that this song was more of a band thing. In 86 when they played this, the guitar solo was extended to make it a 7 minute song. dragging a already 5 minute song to perhaps entertain the crowd. I've seen a lot of bootlegs of many songs and I don't think they ever played a song longer than the album version.

Now they did do instrumental parts for a lot of songs but that was a song break or vocal break. This song they seem to drag out the Craziest part... The Guitar solo. Then they just jam. Crazy song playing on stage to a song with a Crazy meaning.

General Comment:TD Phoenix is right. It's about a selfish woman (I assume since Sammy's straight and he's singing it) who always want's "one more," never content with compromise and sharing. Thus, she wants things 51/50 instead of 50/50. Also, I never thought of the other meaning of the fact that it's a police code for criminally insane, but that could apply to the person Sammy's singing to.

General Comment:Black Sabbath has an instrumental song on the "The Mob Rules" album named, "E5150".

I think it stands for 'evil'.

General Comment:Thank you SRV Blues! Finally someone who agrees that these new so called rock bands are fucking shit. Everyone always says I'm just not accepting newer and better bands, I tell them to shut the fuck up after they can't even name a few fucking classic rock songs. Pisses me of so much . . .

    That felt good.
