Little child dry your crying eyes
How can I explain the fear you feel inside
Cause you were born into this evil world
Where man is killing man and no one knows just why
What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again

CHORUS
When the children cry let them know we tried
Cause when the children sing then the new world begins

Little child you must show the way
To a better day for all the young
Cause you were born for all the world to see
That we all can live with love and peace
No more presidents and all the wars will end
One united world under God

CHORUS

What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again
No more presidents and all the wars will end
One united world under God

When the children cry let them know we tried
When the children fight let them know it ain't right
When the children pray let them know the way
Cause when the children sing then the new world begins

My Interpretation:"Little child dry your crying eyes
How can I explain the fear you feel inside
Cause you were born into this evil world
Where man is killing man and no one knows just why
What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again"

I think the first verse in this song is talking about this generation, probably having to fix the mistakes the past generations have made. And, maybe our generation now is scared and nervous for what the future holds because the world is kind of in a bad place at the moment. No one was asked to be born, but we were. And into a world that isn't so loving anymore. Our generation should understand the past and what happened, but move on and grow stronger. There is much fighting nowadays, and the new generation should grow up to try and make peace within this world. Fighting and hatred is getting pretty old, so we as the new generation need to rise up and go above and beyond to make ends meet. We need to be role models and set better examples for later generations, so a ripple effect can occur. That way, the world would actually be a better place.

General Comment:This is no way a song about communism, this is such a great song it gets overlooked as one of the best songs ever.

General Comment:I don't see an allusion to communism in any way. This song is not political. From my perspective the lyrics refer to the time spoken of in the Bible when Christ will reign over a peaceful earth. There will be no need for presidents when the world is united under "God". Seeking solutions to our problems in human leaders (presidents, kings, czars or prime ministers) is futile. No earthly being can ever bring about peace. It is a futile goal because humans are inherently selfish and corrupt.

General Comment:It's a good song, but I kinda have mixed feelings about it too

"No more presidents and all the wars will end"

Is a line I can't get over. It just reeks of communism and if that line is taken out of the song, personally I'd like it much better.

It kinda knocks on the previous generation (60's) for virtually destroying everything the world had built up to that point following the destructive WWII. It seems almost like an anti-American song, but moreover I think it's about peace, which is a great goal but humanly impossible.

General Comment:I like this song mostly because the older generation is realizing that they were not perfect.
That bad things happen all the time, and they are hoping that knewer generations can see the mistakes
and help fix them, and they are probably wanting us realize whats right so that we dont make things worse
for the generations that are to come after us...
    thats just my veiw
