Love, love me do
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do

Love, love me do
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do

Someone to love,
Somebody new
Someone to love,
Someone like you

Love, love me do
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do

Love, love me do
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do
Whoa, love me do
Yeah, love me do
Whoa, oh, love me do

General Comment:Am I the only one who sees what the song name means if you flip around the words? The Beatles are known for putting hidden messages in their songs. This seems like one of those.

General Comment:Well… this song is about fidelity… but it’s more than that.

This is their early sound! This is the first US chart topper that is sang by Paul… after all, John was busy playing the harmonica. It’s beautiful just listening for how their sound progressed.

And so, Paul charms his way, by talking women, everywhere, into commitment. So the moral of this story is that coercing others will get you what you want from life. Well… only if you’re good at it. Maybe you should learn how to soulfully play the harmonica, too.

General Comment:Actually, there is guitar in this song. The only reason John has the guitar slung over his shoulder in the "video" is so he can hold his harmonica and play those parts. But remember that other guitar player in the band, George? Listen, you can clearly hear an acoustic strumming away.

General Comment:Sorry i slightly misquoted him..Paul actually said with reguards to this song "That's what we want to get back to - simplicity. You can't have anything simpler, yet more meaningful than "love, love me - do". That's just what it means. I think i slagged off school to write that one with John when we first started".

General Comment:Well when I hear this song I think of Mexico. Random, I know, but when I went like a long time ago I apparently didn't bring that many different CD's and my Beatles #1 Album was one of them. And for some reason my little kid brain only liked the first about six tracks. So I ended up practically memorizing all of the first 5 tracks and Yellow Submarine. Then when I got older I sent back and listened to all the other ones. But as for the meaning, I agree with Disposition_987 who was talking about how you can really see how they progressed. And I would know because as I said, at first I only listened to a few of them so I had a very limited knowledge of how great they were and then I discovered, so to speak, their other tracks and I saw how different they could be. In a good way though. But the song itself if very basic, simply talking about asking for love.

General Comment:it's funny, I don't recall Paul & John yelling when they sang this
that's the only reason I can think of why the person who submitted this would type in all-cape
either that, or they're an annoying douche, one of those two

General Comment:A simple love song, and a great one too... always makes me feel good listening to it... and I can't resist humming/whistling along to the harmonica parts

General Comment:This is besides the fact, there's no guitar in this song. In the video John has it slung over his shoulder but never uses it. But this song rocks with just a bass, harmonica, drums and a tambourine. Easy to snap your hands to.
Also, yeah, I did heart Andy White played drums on this and Ringo was manning the tambourine. Kick ass
