Lyrics for M62 Song as interpreted by MDMaster

M62 Song Lyrics
Moonshine
I'm waiting for a love that never comes
Moonshine
Wishing for a time that never was

I'm waiting for a time
For truth to call
I'm waiting for a sign
To show me all
I'm waiting for my love

Moonshine
Drinking to a love that's gone on by
Moonshine
Look into the stars as cars go by

I'm waiting for a time
For truth to call
I'm waiting for a sign
To show me all
I'm waiting for my love

I'm waiting for a time
For truth to call
I'm waiting for a sign
To show me all
I'm waiting for my love
Waiting for my love
Waiting for my love

Moonshine
I'm waiting for a love that never comes

This is in an incredible tune - beautifull - the lyrics are very straightforward - but still very haunting - driving round a lonely motorway longing for love that never has come. Boo Hoo.

This is my drinking song. Yeah, not exactly a rousing tune, but it works for me. It fits, very haunting.

Incu, they recorded this song impromptu on a motorway, hence the name M62. After they had done so, they realised that the melody was the same as King Crimson's song - so they credited the group.

this is a eerie and beautiful song about waiting. this person has just ended a relationship
(drinking to a love that's gone on by)
and is waiting for another love to come. i love it...so desolate

glad to hear they at least credit king crimson, but there is no way they just "happened" to make this song so similar. First time I heard it I thought it was a straight cover song. I like this song a lot regardless, but if they didn't mean to steal it completely, they had to have stolen it subconciously.

I think they would have credited king crimson because yes, they had heard the king crimson song and this happened subconciously. This happens all the time, if you've ever tried to make up music. Sometimes you think you've come up with something amazing and then you remember and realise it's something you've already heard.

Know what you mean, jcarriq, my mate and I have accidentally plagiarised pieces of music on a couple of occasions! Pretty gutting when you think you've come up with something half-decent and then you realise it's the chord progression from 'Comfortably Numb.'

Love the song - hate the bloody motorway.

Whether they ripped off "Moonchild" or not, what a great song. The haunting lead in to the acoustic guitar is spot on (as well as when the same sound is used again throughout the song). Great relaxing road trip song. Great lyrics.

This song was the first song I have ever heard that immediately gave me a very vivid picture in my head and feeling in my soul. I picture a large, open field. It's night time. I'm sitting on a hill, overlooking the field. To the left there is a looming tree and a large pond. The rest is green grass. In the far distance is a forest. The stars and moon are shining bright. There is heavy wind. I see it every time I listen to this song, and because it invoked such a strong picture, I have since been determined to find such a place.

This song is beautiful and haunting.
