There's no one in town I know.
You gave us some place to go.
I never said thank you for that.
I thought I might get one more chance.
What would you think of me now
So lucky, So strong, So proud?
I never said thank you for that,
Now I'll never have a chance.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads,
The sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.

So what would you think of me now
So lucky, So strong, So proud?
I never said thank you for that.
Now I'll never have a chance.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads,
The sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

And if you were with me tonight.
I'd sing to you just one more time.
A song for a heart so big,
God wouldn't let it live.

May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads,
The sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads,
The sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
May angels lead you in.

My Interpretation:This song always brings me to cry. It was playing when my father passed away eight years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was talking to one of my friends and the song was playing and I remember thinking "It would be crazy if my father passed away while this song was playing." It ended, and my mother came into my room crying. She told me my father was gone. Then we played it at his wake, and a month later to the day it was playing on the radio. When I saw JEW two years ago they played it. I can swear I felt him there with me.

Song Meaning:I absolutely agree on how other people interpreted this song!
For me, this song was an encouragement. I lost confident and hope in myself when I looked back at my life and also the direction I was going in. I was struggling so much to the point that I gave up on my everything. Then one night, I had a strong urge to go to the park and just have a quiet time. I am sure that God made me go out there. Anyways, I was listening to songs that my mp3 randomly played as I looked up into the sky. And suddenly, at the corner of my eye, I saw a shooting star. Seriously, it was the most beautiful thing I saw in my life. I was so amazed that I almost forgot to make a wish.
And while I saw the star streak across the sky, this song was playing.
Seeing the star itself was a sign to me that there is still hope and that I need to believe in myself.

General Comment:Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World
This song is about someone who has helped us cope with something awful in our lives. People with big heart who offer help and expect nothing in return and sometimes we tend to ignore them and we just don’t value their existence nor recognize their effort. And then later we realize what they had done for us, and sometimes this realization came late- the moment when they are already gone. The regret of not being able to say “thank you” to those wonderful people was reflected on this song, and though you wanted to say “thank you” now, they cannot hear you anymore. And then what was left with you was a prayer to God that the Angels would protect them.
What I love about this song is the idea that we should not procrastinate on things that we could do now because we never know what tomorrow might bring. So whatever it is that you felt like you need to do, it is best to act on it now because time is so precious, and we are not the one’s holding the length of time how much are we gonna spend here on earth. I think it’s best to show our love everyday to those people we cared about, visit our grandparents, and if you love someone secretly let him/her know so that when the moment arrived when we will be taken from us we never have to regret on things undone.
This song was actually from the movie of Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray (A Cinderella Story), and my sister likes this song so much that she pressed me to ask a friend of mine to download the song the first time we heard it (New Year’s Eve 2009).

Memory:I really love this song. It is like its my own mind in a song. My grandmother has COPD really bad and she is starting to have a hard time breathing. She went to the hospital for a week. I am trying to talk to her as much as possible and say I love her. She is the only one that understood me and support me for what I wanted to be. I hope and pray I don't lose her and get to say as of now "May angels lend you in". Cuz I don't want her with the angels. She needs to be alive with me and the family. Anyways this song is touching and makes me think of my grandmother.

General Comment:This song has a real sentimental part in my life. My oldest brother Jason died five years ago, and this song was sung by two of his closest friends at the memorial service. It plays a love-hate part to me for sure! I love it because he loved it and it's a great song, but I hate it because that day was awful. A great song and a great meaning..

No sadder and powerful lyrics have ever been written. I write this now as my father lays in the hospital, ready to die at any time. He is 1300 miles away, and I can't get to him.

General Comment:What the song means to the artist I never know - It's always interesting to find out but it never changes my own personal feelings for the song itself. Tonight I read and noticed the lyrics for the first time and it sent me in a world of emotion.

if you were with me tonight
i'd sing to you just one more time
a song for a heart so big god wouldn't let it live

That verse meant so much to me it was unbelievable - like a sigh of relief that I found a song that sums up exactly how I feel. So to me this is about one of my closest friends in the world - he meant the world to me as well. Unfortunately - like in the lyrics - his heart was too big that I can only put myself to rest at night believing that God did infact need him more then his family and friends. It's been 5 months on the 13th and I miss him too much that today it still feels wrong that he is not here. Like in the lyrics I reference - If he were here with me tonight I would love for us to listen to music - that was our thing - driving with our favourite music - getting snacks - and watching a movie. I wish I could do all that one more time - but I can't and this song helps me be okay with that. :)

Hah - I am sorry for my outpour - I just really needed to say something about it and I didn't know where else to say how I felt - I am glad I found this forum board :)
