This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go
I never said thank you for that
I thought I might get one more chance
What would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
So what would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
(May angels lead you in)
May angels lead you in
(May angels lead you in)
May angels lead you in
And if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big
God wouldn't let it live
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
You gave us some place to go
I never said thank you for that
I thought I might get one more chance
What would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
So what would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
(May angels lead you in)
May angels lead you in
(May angels lead you in)
May angels lead you in
And if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big
God wouldn't let it live
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
On sleepless roads, the sleepless go
May angels lead you in

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
when i was 15 i moved to a new town and knew no one. one of the guys at my new school came up to me and pretty much told me i had to sit with him and his friends, and i had no choice. we became best friends. we were inseperable. he died when i was 17. i heard this song a couple weeks after he died and i could only cry. this song means the world to me. i miss my friend so much. everytime i hear this song i feel him with me. so i dedicate this to Jeffrey Scott Minster. "May angels lead you in, hear you me my friend"
This song always brings me to cry. It was playing when my father passed away eight years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was talking to one of my friends and the song was playing and I remember thinking "It would be crazy if my father passed away while this song was playing." It ended, and my mother came into my room crying. She told me my father was gone. Then we played it at his wake, and a month later to the day it was playing on the radio. When I saw JEW two years ago they played it. I can swear I felt him there with me.
I love this song. It's one of my favorites off the new Jimmy Eat World CD "Bleed American." I think what the guys are trying to convey to the listener is that someone in their life that was close to them died and that person did so much for them, but they never the opportunity to thank them for the little things. Also that they hope that they're somewhere in heaven and maybe looking down on them.
Okay this song is simply amazing. The first time I heard it was on an episode of One Tree Hill. For those who don't know, One Tree Hill is a music oriented show, which makes it awesome and if you love music you should check it out. Anyways, I immidiatly looked up the song and bought it. I love it. It is so beautiful. My uncle died this past year and I listened to it over and over, it really describe what I felt about his death. When I die and want it to be played at my funeral. Props to J.E.W.
Sorry, this isn't just one of the best in bleed American, this is probably their best song EVER. And also best ever written by any artist in the world. It's hard to find such a haunting, deep, touching and relaxing beautiful song
my sister died of cervical cancer two months ago and this song was played at the funeral. she adored it and we thought i would be fitting. so now everytime i hear this song, especially the part about angels, i remember the best sister in the world - Jessica Daisy Norton 01/02/81 - 11/12/01. i love you Jess. Mx.
this song was included on an album dedicated to Mykel and Carli, the women that ran the weezer fan club 93-97. they're catchphrase (sort of) was hear you me, and they died in a car crash. knowing this, the song makes sense, as the duo would often look after up and coming bands my giving them places to stay and baking them cakes and food at concerts
I've been told (and i believe ) that this song is about those 2 poor kids who were killed in a car accident in cali years back. The ones who were the leaders of the Weezer fan club.
I love how toward the end of the song, his voice starts cracking a little. It shows like the emotion of the song and everything. I love ittt. (:
"if you were with me tonight i'd sing to you just one more time a song for a heart so big god wouldn't let it live"
this verse gets me everytime I listen to this song. It is just so powerful, and sad. I agree with Dorky that this song is about someone who helped them, and they never got a chance to thank them. It's just such a great song.
That has to be my favorite verse in the song too..<br /> especially "a song for a heart so big God wouldn't let it live"<br /> this has to be one of their greatest songs to date... =)
The person probably did a lot for them and they never got a chance to thank them for it, but I think that's because the person dies. It's hard to imagine this song being about someone living with things like "may angels lead you in" and "a song for a heart so big god wouldn't let it live"
From Songfacts: This song is about Mykel and Carli Allen, the women who ran the Weezer fan club. They died in a car accident driving back from a Weezer concert.
A real beautiful song.
