If you wear red tonight
Remember what I said tonight
For red is the color that my baby wore
And what is more, it's true
Yes it is

Scarlet were the clothes she wore
Everybody knows I've sure
I could remember all the things we planned
Understand, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
Yes it is

I could be happy with you by my side
If I could forget her, but it's my pride
Yes it is, yes it is
Oh, yes it is, yeah

Please don't wear red tonight
This is what I said tonight
For red is the color that will make me blue
In spite of you, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
Yes it is

I could be happy with you by my side
If I could forget her, but it's my pride
Yes it is, yes it is
Oh, yes it is, yeah

Please don't wear red tonight
This is what I said tonight
For red is the color that will make me blue
In spite of you, it's true
Yes it is, it's true
Yes it is, it's true.

General Comment:Anyone else ever wonder whether this song is really about red clothing, or if he's using 'red' as a metaphor for anger/general negative feelings? Like his previous love was intense, but as such they fought too much?

General Comment:Its a great song!!! a reminder what fine singers they were...I like anthology version where lennons start "twai twuee" and harrison and mccartney seriously sing their part as normal practise...one of the best harmonies..very similar to this boy but no two beatles songs are alike as all beatles fans know...the only similarity is that both of them are great songs with great harmonies...Be

General Comment:Lennon had said that this was just him trying to rewrite "This Boy". Although I think Yes it Is, is a better song.
