Sea, sand and stone
Wreath 'round this ground I call my own
While dark, concrete sky
Blacks out the sun with icy night
Even though the ocean roars
And the storm is bold, and the rain is cold
Here I was born
Though winter winds have blown
And bitter seeds been sown
I gave you all I am and all I hope to be
Now I am free
Wind fill my frame
Fire me with your immortal flame
Even though I am poor
Through the looking glass, I watch unfold
What can't be told
(Chorus)
Though fortunes rise and fall
It's no concern at all
I gave you all I am, and all I hope to be
Now I am free
Even though I am poor
Through the looking glass, I watch unfold
What can't be told
(Chorus)
Wreath 'round this ground I call my own
While dark, concrete sky
Blacks out the sun with icy night
Even though the ocean roars
And the storm is bold, and the rain is cold
Here I was born
Though winter winds have blown
And bitter seeds been sown
I gave you all I am and all I hope to be
Now I am free
Wind fill my frame
Fire me with your immortal flame
Even though I am poor
Through the looking glass, I watch unfold
What can't be told
(Chorus)
Though fortunes rise and fall
It's no concern at all
I gave you all I am, and all I hope to be
Now I am free
Even though I am poor
Through the looking glass, I watch unfold
What can't be told
(Chorus)

The second time I associate it with is the evening I left New York for good to move back to my previous home in Massachusetts. Things had gone from bad to worse with my life in NYC...relationship problems, job problems, money problems...and in the end I had to pack up and move back to Massachusetts because nothing was getting better in New York. So as the Greyhound Bus I was on drove away from the city, the sun was going down and everything was bathed in very rich oranges and blues, and this song came on right as the bus turned and the city was visible from across the water. It was a very sad moment for me, but I knew better times were ahead, and this song really matched exactly how I felt at that point in my life.
