A condemning
Fear strikes down
Things they cannot understand
An excuse to cover
Up weaknesses that lie within

Lies

Laying your
Guilt and pain
On people that had no part
In the molding of a life
That creates it's destruction

Lies

Right before your very eyes
A reflection of the mistakes
To the end you will deny
Your part in the demise of a life

Lack
Of
Comprehension
Thriving
On your
Cliche
Compelled
By self
Resentment

Reaching into the minds
Of those that created the
Depression in which they
In which they drowned their flesh and blood

Lies

So easy to blame the
Everlasting fear on a
Pathetic attempt
To justify the ending of a life

Lies

Right before your very eyes
A reflection of the mistakes
To the end you will deny
Your help in the ending of a life

Lack
Of
Comprehension
Thriving
On your
Cliche
Compelled
By self
Resentment

General Comment:I think the lyrics are about generations passing their mistakes and problems on to next generations ('their flesh and blood'). So in general parents who drown their children into their depressions and problems with the excuse that life's all so hard and dificult, without realizing that they can make a change themselves and without realizing that they have a major influence in the lives of their children.

General Comment:I spent a long time thinking this was a song about a parent neglecting a child and causing its death, or possibly killing it themselves through something like Munchausen Syndrome. Mainly because of the 'in which they drowned their flesh and blood' part.

The more I think about it, I think it's about substance abuse too. And the drowning part is a reference to themselves.

General Comment:"It can be interperated in MANY ways!" no it cant, idiot. the writer meant one thing, so theres not multiple meanings. the goal is to find out what the lyrics mean, not what they mean for us, because we didnt write them.

General Comment:I believe this song is about someone suffering with an alchohol or drug problem (watch the music video) and they dont realize that the problem is their alchohol or drug abuse so they continue time after time again to blame their problems on others even the ending of someones life.

General Comment:I agree with you completely. To put it simply, it's about stupid people who cannot understand their own mistakes and blame others. They do not see what it is that they're doing wrong and try to justify it with blame.
'Thriving on your cliche', to me seems like following a laid-out path or doing what everyone else is doing without a mere thought. Like i said, about stupid people.
After they follow the particular path, they blame the people who led them onto it, without seeing what they did wrong.

General Comment:It's about any transferral of blame away from the self and onto someone whose fault it wasn't really.

General Comment:I know exactly what Chuck means through this song, but it's really hard to explain. This song seems to me like it's about the useless and pathetic people you may encounter daily. It's about people that are so weak and insecure that they deny themselves over and over and force themselves to bring sadness/hate down on other people to make themselves feel important. They're such pussies that they won't open their eyes and see themselves for what they truly are. They provide nothing beneficial to society in all of their activities. Weak and foolish. Unfortunately, it's a majority of humans, at least where I live.

General Comment:Not understanding metal makes sense. It's about a murderer who listened to metal, so his peers blame metal for turning him evil, even though it's their own fault for raising him so poorly.
