Turn off your mind relax and float down stream
It is not dying, it is not dying

Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void,
It is shining, it is shining.

Yet you may see the meaning of within
It is being, it is being

Love is all and love is everyone
It is knowing, it is knowing

And ignorance and hate mourn the dead
It is believing, it is believing

But listen to the colour of your dreams
It is not leaving, it is not leaving

So play the game "Existence" to the end
Of the beginning, of the beginning

General Comment:Mad Men turned me on (to use a 60's term) to this song - played at the end of last episode. Was 5 years old when Revolver came out but always heard Beatles from my older brothers - BUT - never heard this song! What a masterpiece! Seems like a deep cut to me, but I see others here saying it is considered the greatest song ever. How did I miss this one? Have to ask my brothers. Lennon was a genius and what they all created together was trail blazing for generations to come.

General Comment:I love the crazy, ghostly barrel-house piano riff at the very end of the song - like a wacky psychedelic twist - you thought John was singing from a Tibetan mountaintop - but they are actually in a Wild West saloon...after a psychedelic shoot-out! (Or maybe they hallucinated themselves right out of Buddhism and into the Klondike Gold Rush days).

This song is a timeless mind-blower and I love it.

General Comment:The best part is when John distorts his voice halfway through--right after the backwards guitar solo. He sounds like he is singing from inside a can--hysterical! One of the coolest singers ever, along with Paul's beautiful voice, they created magic together. The drums are also very pronounced in the left speaker. I don't know why they say it is a 'one-chord' song. It sounds like it is in 'B,' but then moves down to 'A.' Kind of a disonant thing. The real impoortant thing is how much Dylan influenced the Beatles, esp. John. I don't think there would have been the Sixties w/out Dylan. He was that influential. He simply taught the world a new way of writing songs. Dylan + the Beatles + Drugs = the greatest pop music the world has ever known. Is there a better line than, "listen to the color of your dreams?" Everytime I hear that line, it brings a smile to my face. Everytime I hear those crazy seagulls, I feel like I am having a flashback. And I have never listened to this song on acid. Just crazy!

General Comment:I think this song is about what happens when two boys from Liverpool take a lot of LSD and how ultimately they both fall in love with the drummer.

General Comment:amazingly influential song, inspired the chemical brothers incredibly, notably in the songs let forever be, setting sun, (both songs are accused of sampling this song, as well as feature noel gallagher) and definitely the concept of this almost solely is behind the private psychedelic reel, one of the best songs ive ever heard, as it was said somewhere by the chemical bros something to the effect of the beatlesused to make tracks solely for them all to take acid to, and we wanted to do the same thing, with our music

General Comment:some of the lyrics in this song are incorrect. it's not it is speaking but instead it's it is being. that neing said i believe those 3 words may be the greatest words ever to come out of john lennon's mouth. your mind is opened to endless possibilities when on drugs and maybe john, while in his own world somehow found the meaning to life. BEING
