1, 2.. 1, 2, 3; yeah!
In-slum-national, underground
Thunder pounds when I stomp the ground (Woo!)
Like a million elephants with silverback orangutans
You can't stop a train
Who want some? Don't come un-pre-pared
I'll be there, but when I leave there
Better be a household name
Weather man tellin' us it ain't gon' rain
So now we sittin' in a drop-top, soakin wet
In a silk suit, tryin' not to sweat
Hits somersaults without the net
But this'll be the year that we won't forget
One-Nine-Nine-Nine, Ano Domini, anything goes, be whatchu wanna be
Long as you know consequences are given for livin - the fence is
too high to jump in jail
Too low to dig, I might just touch hell - HOT!
Get a life, now they gon' sell
Then I might catch you a spell, look at what came in the mail
A scale and some Arm and Hammer, so grow grid and some baby máma
Black Cadillac and a pack of pampers
Stack of question with no answers
Cure for cancer, cure for AIDS
Make a nigga wanna stay on tour for days
Get back home, things are wrong
When I really knew it was bad all along
Before you left adds up to a ball of power
Thoughts at a thousands miles per hour
Hello, ghetto, let your brain breathe
Believe there's always mo', OWWWW!

Don't pull the thang out, unless you plan to bang
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Ha ha yeah!
Don't even bang unless you plan to hit something
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Uhh-huh
Don't pull the thang out, unless you plan to bang
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Ha ha yeah!
Don't even bang unless you plan to hit something
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Uhh-huh

Uno, dos, tres, it's on
Did you ever think a pimp rock a microphone?
Like that there boi and will still stay street
Big things happen every time we meet
Like a track team, crack fiend, dyin to geek
Outkast bumpin' up and down the street
Slam back, Cadillac, 'bout five nigga deep
Seventy-five emcee's freestylin' to the beat
Cause we get krunk, stay drunk, at the club
Should have bought an ounce, but you caught the dub
Should have held back, but you throwed the punch
'Spose to meet your girl but you packed a lunch
No D to-the U to-the G for you
Got a son on the way by the name of Bamboo
Got a little baby girl four year, Jordan
Never turn my back on my kids for them
Should have hit it (hit it) quit it (quit it) rag (rag) top (top)
Before you read up, get a laptop
Make a business for yourself, boy, set some goals
Make a fair diamond out of dusty coals
Record number four, but we on a roll
Hold up, slow up, stop, +Control+
like Janet, planets, Stankonia's on ya
Movin like Floyd comin' straight to Florida
Lock all your windows then block the corridors
Pullin off a belt 'cause a whipping's in order
Like a three-piece just 'fore I cut your daughter
Yo quiero Taco Bell, then I hit the border
Penny pap rappers tryin' to get the five
I'm a microphone fiend tryin' to stay alive
When you come to ATL boi you betta not hide
cause the Dungeon Family gon' ride, hah!

Don't pull the thang out, unless you plan to bang
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Ha ha yeah!
Don't even bang unless you plan to hit something
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Uhh-huh
Don't pull the thang out, unless you plan to bang
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Ha ha yeah!
Don't even bang unless you plan to hit something
Bombs over Baghdad!
Yeah! Uhh-huh

Bombs over Baghdad! Yeah
Bombs over Baghdad! Yeah
Bombs over Baghdad! Yeah
Bombs over Baghdad! Yeah

General Comment:wow.... Ironically even after Bush has left, people still post how much they hate him. Even on a post that is about what music means people seem to some how relate it politics......... Read the F'in lyrics.. It has nothing to do with Bush, the war, or your stupid thoughts. Damn, I have over 350combat flying hours over Iraq and would love this song to be about one of the 500 lb bombs I dropped on Baghdad, but it's not, it's a great song and rhyms out of this world for when it was released. Take a deep breath, enjoy life and everything under the sun, and have fun with what you have! Next thing people will say the Prodigy song "Slap my bitch up" is about Obama slapping Biden.

General Comment:Just because Bush wasn't in power when it was recorded doesn't mean you can't relate the lyrics to the war that he started. That's the beauty of music.

Song Meaning:The meaning of this song isn't actually about physically bombing the city of Baghdad... This song was made in 2000. The song was made about people just releasing songs even if they don't think that they are good. Outkat was saying 'Don't pull your thang out, unless you plan to band', meaning 'Don't release a record unless you think it'll be a hit'.

General Comment:This song is so hard to figure out because it has too many meaning in one. I'm lazy so I'm just gonna say what I think about the most important parts of the song

"Hit somersaults without the net"=acting without planning

"Get back home, things are wrong.
Well, not really, it was bad all along"
you cant run away from your problems

etc. etc. I think the reason people are so confused about it is because most songs have one main theme.

General Comment:Gulf War mass-bombing campaign turns into the greatest sex metaphor in the history of hip-hop, if not all music ever

I'm going to break down th chrus real siple for you. It's means go all the way, In the word of another song "ain' no half steppin'"

"Bombs over Bagdhad" refers to the Gulf War wher emillions of pounds of bombs were dropped but we weren't really hitting anything or doing anything. basically all loud noise and no substance.

Dre's line is referring to gun, but is abstractly referring to the above principle. Don't pull your gun if out if you're not prepared to use it, but don't use it if you don't know what you're doing or you'r enot going to use it properly.

General Comment:ah, this song, one of my favourites.

well the meaning here is actually really straight forward, theres no hidden messages, its just exactly what there saying.

    "1, 2.. 1, 2, 3; yeah!
    In-slum-national, underground
Thunder pounds when I stomp the ground (Woo!)
Like a million elephants with silverback orangutans
    You can't stop a train
Who want some? Don't come un-pre-pared

    Better be a household name
Weather man tellin' us it ain't gon' rain
So now we sittin' in a drop-top, soakin wet
In a silk suit, tryin' not to sweat
    Hits somersaults without the net
But this'll be the year that we won't forget"

as mentioned before, this is about society half assing things, but if you look at it, its about the failure of things, as we go deeper into the new age, we get more and more technology, but there is more failure because of the impact of that technology on our world...

now im not gonna quote everything, but i am gonna put out most of it.

"One-Nine-Nine-Nine, Ano Domini, anything goes, be whatchu wanna be"

this and the lyrics after it, refer to, obviously the year 1999, anything goes, you can do what you want, but again as things get better, they get worse, society does things without looking at the concequences, look at the war in iraq, polllution, even global warming could be thrown into this because this song takes society as a whole into account

just look at the lyrics and think for yourself, its showing the downward turn on obvious things that the worlds coming to in the near future, its ironic that another pointless war in iraq occured and furthur illustrated the point of this song.
