My daddy was a trucker
Left home when I was three
He fell for some dude in Austin
Then it was mom and me
She always wanted a daughter
Well look at what she got
A'hit me, beat me, a faggot I ain't
But a real man they say I'm not
I'm the queen, queen of the rodeo
Queen, queen of the rodeo
So cowboy, if you're lookin for lovin'
I ain't no queer, go fuck a steer
"I think there's one over there..."
I drink too much, I smoke too much
I'm a human waste
I buy a lot of cheap alcohol
But I'll tell ya honey, I really hate the taste
I dressed in drag, they call me a fag
But boy, I really don't care
Cause last night I met your girlfriend, sucker
And I hope ya like to share, cause she did
I'm the queen, queen of the rodeo
Queen, queen of the rodeo
So cowboy, if you're lookin to fight
I ain't no wimp, I scratch and bite
"And I'm gonna kick your ass too..."
Queen, queen of the rodeo
FUCK YOU!
Queen, queen of the rodeo
Queen, queen of the rodeo

General Comment:Keep in mind that the band was into the "glam" scene of the 1980's - the whole big hair, speed metal thing that was popular at the time. Layne was in a band that dressed in drag. This song likely pokes fun at the fact that they were probably called fags a lot.

General Comment:this song was about the actual writers (David Dunihoo) adoulecent. his step dad was a total douche, people were always judging him, and he is still to this day a heavy smoker. Alice in Chains stole it from him.

General Comment:I love this song. It's basically a rambling type song from way back when, when Alice in Chains was Alice 'n' Chainz, the early version of Alice in Chains, a band which Layne says "Dressed in drag and played speed metal". So that's about it.

I love the humor packed in these two lines. Considering how dark most of AIC's material is, this is refreshing. Not that I hate the dark numbers.

General Comment:The live version is way better than the studio version. It just sounds like Layne and the boys were dickin around when they recorded it (and there's nothing wrong with havin a little fun at work) I love playin the live version at night drivin around with my buddies. FUCK YOU! I dedicate this to the god damn cops in Erie. fuckin pigs

General Comment:"Alright, uh, seeing how... Seeing how we're in Dallas, we've got a special treat for you guys. This is a little country tune that we wrote. You'll dig it"

General Comment:this song is no way about homophobia you dumbasses. it was made out of humor but Layne's friend for Layne to perform. plus Layne did not like gays.
