Yeh, it goes away
All of this and more of nothing in my life
No color clay
Individuality not safe

As of now I bet you got me wrong
So unsure you run from something strong

I can't let go
Threadbare tapestry unwinding slow
Feel a tortured brain
Show your belly like you want me to

As of now I bet you got me wrong
So unsure you run from something strong

I haven't felt like this in so long
Wrong, in a sense too far gone from love
That don't last forever
Something's gotta turn out right

You sugar taste
Sweetness doesn't often touch my face
Stay if you please
You may not be here when I leave

As of now I bet you got me wrong
So unsure we reach for something strong

I haven't felt like this in so long
Wrong, in a sense too far gone from love
Strong, I haven't felt like this in so long
Wrong, in a sense too far gone from love
T hat don't last forever
Something's gotta turn out right

General Comment:I can really relate to this song because to me it seems like the song is all about miscommunication in a realtionship and failue to understand one another. The person says strong, because they are ready to move on and "wrong in a sense to far gone from love" because they feel removed from the relationship.

General Comment:Man, it makes total sense to me now. No wonder I absolutely can't stop playing this song on repeat right now. I am especially drawn to the lines:

    "You, sugar taste
Sweetness doesn't often touch my face
    Stay, if you please
You may not be here when I leave"

    ...
I'm leaving my first love (I'm 21). We've been together for 2 years. I'm leaving him so that I won't hurt him in the future, as I don't know what I want in life right now and I can't commit to anything. He is the only innocence and good that I know right now (and may EVER know), but we can't become further attached b/c of the potential hurt that's involved. It's SO hard to leave him, and the only way we can go about it (we agree) is to not be in each other's lives anymore. I feel like I'm mourning a dead person, it hurts SO much. I know one day we'll get over it though, and that it's probably for the best. I think this might be (if not exactly) close to what this song is about now that I think of it.

    My Opinion:Here comes Randal.

    He's a berserker.

General Comment:In the liner notes of 1999's Music Bank box set collection, guitarist Jerry Cantrell said of the song:

"That's about a girl I was dating in between one of the times I broke up with my true love. A lot of times you'll tell someone how you don't want to be in a relationship and why, and what kind of person you are, and they hear all that but think that they can change you. That's what the song's about, getting me wrong and the different ways that men and women see each other."

I also see the song as a conversation between a man who doesn't want to commit, and a woman who has strong feelings for him and thinks that he'll change for her when he sees how strong she feels about a potential relationship.

    For example:

Man: As of now I bet you got me wrong. (I don't want to commit)
So unsure we reach for something strong.

Woman: I haven't felt like this in so long...

Man: Wrong, in a sense too far gone from love. (I don't love you, it was all about lust)

You can also apply that to the verses as well.

i know this isnt what its really about, but for me its like someone who gets judged by everyone before they know anything about them.

General Comment:This is one of the few songs that truly touch something in me that I can't define. the music and lyrics are genius just like much of their music, but this one is special.
