    General Comment:This album, Alice In Chains, was made shortly after Layne's long time girl-friend passed away from a Heroin overdose. I think this song may be about how Layne felt about her death. He turned her onto drugs, so he felt responsible."Hey, you had time to think it out, yeah Hey, Your weak will won't help her heal her heart Hey, I'll bet it really eats you up" Maybe he means that his weak will is his addiction, and turning her onto drungs won't help her or make her feel good.Also it "Eats you up" means that it kills him that he did that to her.
    It's sad to think that this might of been what he wrote this song about, but it's sadder to think that that was what really happened to such a wonderful person..... RIP Demri and Layne

    General Comment:I just got out of a relationship with this girl for the 2nd time and considering to try it three times. I was listening to this album when this song hit me as similar. I think its about an on and off relationship and while trying to be friends the reminiscent's of lust and love take over actions and will power. "Your weak will wont heal her heart," while she is trying to get over you, your just trying to get her in bed and trying many things in order to do so. Or have commitment issues and cant be in the relationship but cant be without her.

    General Comment:Isn't it about Layne's father? He left when Layne was a kid then showed up when he got famous and used him to procure drugs. Pretty messed up..would definitely explain most of the lyrics.

    General Comment:This song is about layne's battle with addiction.

    The break down:

    let em do it again (let them do what they do, let the addicts do what they will anyways)

    hey I thought you were my friend (after being confronted by family, intervention)

    hey, feeling so down ( depression, feeling alone, unable to beat the addiction, hated by close friends and family)

    you made a fool of me again (the drug has made him look like a complete moron, but he can't kick it)

    I won't do it again (false promises after every relapse)

    why you slap me in the face, I didn't say it was ok (being honest that he has an addiction and cannot stop or he will die from the chemical dependency)


    you violate a part of me again (the drug has taken control and twisted his mind and behavior yet again)

    hey you had time to think it out, yeah ( he had time to think it out after rehab and regrets relapsing yet again, thought he would be all better and cured)

    your weak will won't help her heal her heart (laynes weak will couldn't heal the reason for him using heroin. he needed to get clean to figure his life out, and the reason he used or he would die.)


    I bet it really eats you up huh? ( in other words "I bet that the more you tried to help me you couldn't do it and it's caused you so much pain seeing me die")

    extending part of me again ( slamming heroin through an arm, leg...)

    in the video if you notice there's the band playing inside a cage "layne feels trapped in his addiction"

    and then there's a gourney being rushed into a hospital...

    and then there's the word support being written on a chalkboard. thats rehab or NA type stuff going on. what more reason does anyone need to believe it's not THE song about addiction????? come on...
