Lyrics for So Much For The Afterglow as interpreted by Demau Senae

So Much For The Afterglow Lyrics
This is a song about Susan
This is a song about the girl next door
This is a song about the everyday occurances that make you feel like letting go
Yes I think we've got a problem
So much for the afterglow
So much for the afterglow

This is a song about Susan
This is a song about the way things are
This is a song about the scary things you see from the corner of your eye
Don't you wonder why?

We never talk about the future
Yeah, we never talk about the past anymore
We never ask ourselves the questions to the answers that nobody even wants to know
I guess the honeymoon is over
So much for the afterglow

I remember we could talk about anything
I remember when we used to want to hang out
And I remember we could talk about anything

Yeah, we never talk about the future
Oh, we never talk about the past anymore
We never ask ourselves the questions to the answers that nobody needs to know
(Oh well, oh well, oh well)
So much for the afterglow
(Oh well, oh well, oh well)
So much for the afterglow

Yes I guess we need the drama
So much for the afterglow

these guys are awesome. somehow, they manage to blend grunge and pop on a record, and make it work. this song actually sounds like summer. the beach boys harmonies switching to blazing guitar is awesome. plus all the lyrics on the album, especially this song, are the greatest.

This song is definately one of the best intros to a song, EVER. Makes you just wanna JUMP ABOUT whilst jamming on your air guitar.... come in, this is fantastic stuff.

i agree... its got one of the best intros ever.... it just pumps you up for the rest of the awesome song

This is a song about the everyday occurances that make you feel like letting go
- thats just about the little shitty things that happen in life that make you wanna end it all

Don't you wonder why?
We never talk about the future
- they don't talk about the future anymore because there is no future for them

I guess the honeymoon is over
So much for the afterglow
- pretty self explanatory... 'so much 4 the afterglow' hes just accepting his losses... accepting that the relationship is falling apart... and so much for their bright future

this is an awesome as hell song
i love it

this is a song about being completely jaded. they dude thought he had a future, but everything falls apart and he realizes that there is nothing good in his days to come.

afterglow: The comfortable feeling following a pleasant experience; A lingering impression of past glory or success.

I think the definition and song title says it all.

Awesome way to open up the album. Probably of of the definitive albums of the 90's. I recently got the whole album over rhapsody. Really good CD.
