A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming
No method in our madness
Just pride about our manner
Antpeople are the warriors
Antmusic is the banner!
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
And even when you're healthy
And your colour schemes delight
Down below those dandy clothes
You're just a shade too white
Shade too white!
Shade too white!
I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming...
I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming...
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming
No method in our madness
Just pride about our manner
Antpeople are the warriors

A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
And even when you're healthy
And your colour schemes delight
Down below those dandy clothes
You're just a shade too white
Shade too white!
Shade too white!
I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming...
I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming...

I dont think Adam Ant has any Native American in him but that's clearly what the song is about. This has to be one of the most original sounding songs I've ever heard...the African Burundi beat, mixed with Native American chants and driving 3 chord punk guitars. Kings Of the Wild Frontier is one of the most original albums recorded. Although he softened his sound and became a big hit later on in the States...Kings Of The Wild Frontier was Adams creative pinnacle.
Last I heard he's gone completely mad...what a shame.
@MrLongrove i totally agree with you about the kings being one of the most original albums ever. his earlier stuff in general was very unique. <br /> the remark about him having gone "completely mad" seems a bit much though; he's been diagnosed with bipolar since his early twenties, and being an artist/performer is very difficult. everyone has low points in life, but he's doing much better now fortunately. (btw i'm not trying to be argumentative here, it's just that reading it like that seemed kind of harsh to me)
