A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family

I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming

No method in our madness
Just pride about our manner
Antpeople are the warriors
Antmusic is the banner!

A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family
A new Royal Family, a wild nobility, we are the family

And even when you're healthy
And your colour schemes delight
Down below those dandy clothes
You're just a shade too white
Shade too white!
Shade too white!

I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming...

I feel beneath the white
There is a redskin suffering
From centuries of taming...

My Opinion:I think that the song is about recreational use of dramamine. Dramamine is in white pills,
and in "king" size (large doses) it can make the skin red.

General Comment:Adam is 1/4 romi, i believe it is a nomadic people originating from india. He identifies with the underdog status of native americans. Underneath the white there is a more primal thirst for life.

General Comment:I completely agree with jokingkong.
Also, I believe that with the lines "I feel beneath the white
    there is a redskin suffering
from centuries of taming... " he's saying that everyone has some sort of primitive savage inside them, just waiting to burst out and wreak havoc.

General Comment:thedork-2's explanation is pretty spot on. I only disagree about this one:
    ''and even when you're healthy
    and your colour schemes delight
    down below thos dandy clothes
you're just a shade too white
    shade too white!
    shade too white!

-Even if you've adapted yourself to these new regimes, governments and societal norms, and you say you're fine and proper and wear the expected clothing, act the expected way, there's a small part of you down below that's still wild and could break loose. Stop denying it.''

The song sound to me as a big worshipping of The Ants. The stanze I copied is I think about people copying the Ant-look, without being or ever being a real Ant/Indian, in the end they're just too white . The Natives were/aren't white, are they?.

-Replacing current leaders/family units will be antmusic

    I feel beneath the white
    there is a redskin suffering
    from centuries of taming

-Feeling wild underneath your current cultural norms, like a wild thing tamed by society and new structures and standards

    "no method in our madness
    just pride about our maner
    Antpeople are the warriors
    Antmusic is the banner!"

-Stop asking questions and get used to the music, it's got no purpose but to provide pleasure to others

    and even when you're healthy
    and your colour schemes delight
    down below thos dandy clothes
you're just a shade too white
    shade too white!
    shade too white!

    I feel beneath the white
    there is a redskin suffering
    from centuries of taming...

-Underneath us all there's a wild one, much like the Natives in the USA who were forced into "white" clothing and given guns and tamed horses with saddles, they are still wild at heart and remember the old ways. No amount of polish, government or law can supress that instinct.

General Comment:i dont know if this will make any sense, but when he says
    I feel beneath the white
    there is a redskin suffering
    from centuries of taming

he means that we have wiped out the indians and they are disappearing. i dont know thats just my take on it.

General Comment:Oh I am so in love with this song! It's so unique and just awesome. To me, it's very sexual also. It's like primitive feelings and the music is intense. I agree with jokingkong. He is trying to compare himself and his band to Native Americans. The dandy clothes reference really delights me. Being a lolita, I can relate.

General Comment:I don't think he's saying he's an American Indian in anyway, I think he's trying to compare the Antpeople to like that of a modern Indian tribe. That the Antmusic is their tribal music. Adam also had that whole new wave tribal Indian look going to. This is probably their best song and definately my favorite. I always envisioned guys riding around on horses in a circle while people danced in the middle when listening to the drums. Like jimmyjango2000 said this song is the bands anthem.

General Comment:A totally original song. Nothing has ever sounded like this before and nothing ever will. This is the Adam & the Ants mantra and anthem.
