Well I'm standing here looking at you
What do I see?
I'm looking straight through
It's so sad
When you're young
To be told
You're having fun

So unplug the jukebox
And do us all a favour
That music's lost its taste
So try another flavour -
'ant music' 'ant music'
'ant music' 'ant music'

Well I'm standing here what do I see?
A big nothing
Threatening me
It's so sad
When you're young
To be told
You're having fun

So unplug the jukebox
And do us all a favour
That music's lost its taste
So try another flavour -
'ant music' 'ant music'
'ant music' 'ant music'

So unplug the jukebox
And do us all a favour
That music's lost its taste
So try another flavour -
'ant music' 'ant music'
'ant music' 'ant music'

Don't tread on an ant he's done nothing to you
There might come a day
When he's treading on you
Don't tread on an ant you'll end up black and blue
You cut off his head
Legs come looking for you

So unplug the jukebox
And do us all a favour
That music's lost its taste
So try another flavour -
'ant music' 'ant music'
'ant music' 'ant music'

So unplug the jukebox
And do us all a favour
That music's lost its taste
So try another flavour -
'ant music' 'ant music'
'ant music' 'ant music'
'ant music' 'ant music'

General Comment:I'm pretty sure this song is about the fading of disco and the music industry trying to force you to listen to other music, as seen by the lyrics "to be told you're having fun". The music video features a sign with the word "disco" and in the song Adam says "That music has lost it's taste So try another flavour- ant music". Saying, if disco is gone, why not try ant music?

General Comment:The funky drumming at the beginning sounds aptly like an invasion of ants crawling towards you.
Well, I think it does. :)

General Comment:I suppose misinterpreted this xD!!

I always thought he was saying, "Its so sad to be young and be told that your a big fatso. "

Not only did this line mean something to mean (When I was little my doctor called me fat -_-), but it changed the whole meaning of this song.

The guitarist in Adam and the Ants was former guitarist from the band Bow Wow Wow, and they kicked him out because he was fat. I always took this song being about him, and almost as if saying that Adam and the Ants was better than Bow Wow xD

Of course this information might be wrong .__.' I wasn't born in the 80s when all this awesome was going on, this is what my mother and father told me.

General Comment:I feel this song has more importance now more than ever. It seems to me that this song is about the alternative music cultures that sprang up at the time Adam Ant started out in the punk scene and dabbled in the new romantics. I think he is trying to say that you don't need to follow the masses and to be an individual. Todays music is almost forced down our throats with all this reality tv talent shows, telling us what is good and bad a lot of people would not be able to find individual music if it was playing next door to them.

General Comment:he is saying that his "antmusic" is (or was, since we are talking about an 80's song) better then the other music out there, on the radio. and that they should listen to his music. its a great way of self-promoting your music, without actually selling out. plus the song is fun to dance to. =]

General Comment:i have thought the same thing about this song ever since i first heard it.

it's a song saying how good you are, and all the other music is crap.

    "so unplug the jukebox
and do us all a favour
    that music's lost its taste
    so try another flavour -
    "antmusic""

    - or so that is what i get out of it.
