If I put my hands to your stomach, or put my lips to your hand. Birmingham has gone to motors. Take me home, keep your eyes on the road. So don't forget to kiss me if you're really going to leave. Couldn't you take the second bus home? Couldn't you just take me with you? I'm convinced that you're from mars.

General Comment:One of my favorites. I agree, It is about young love, And being innocent while having the butterfly feeling in your stomach. Great song.

General Comment:The line "If I put my hands to your stomach, or put my lips to your hand" comes from Red House Painter's song titled, "Japanese to English". And the line "Keep your eyes on the road" comes from a song by Braid titled, "Interstate 57". So that explains the lyrical credit given in the liner notes to M. Kozelek and B. Nanna.

General Comment:I think all of the promise ring songs speak for themselves. no need to dig too much into them, they'll only get you nowhere and nothing...and as we all know, nothing feels good.

General Comment:i think the fact that bob nanna (of braid + hey mercedes, etc. fame) and mark kozelek (of red house painters, sun kil moon, etc. fame) collaborated on these lyrics is an awesome fact- only adds to the greatness!

General Comment:thats not true at all, they would have had to give him lyrical credit on the album, and they dont; they say: 'lyrical credit to b. nanna and m. kozelek on track 8[which is a picture postcard].'
