This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart

Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.

Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."

I think it is Noel being existential, 'We the people fight for our exsistence' i think that is people not knowning why they are here and question their exsistence, that was quite obvious. 'fading like the stars we wish to be ' is about mortality and how we seem important but in the end we are all just dust.
'Ididnt mean what i just said but my god woke up on the wrong side of his bed ' I think that is about repenting his religion, he may have said he hated god, for spliting up his relationships or some other tragedy, so he is sorry but still places the blame partly on god. And from questioning god he has realised there isn't much he can do 'you have to give it all in all your life ' but be the best he can be. I just don't understand why he uses "we"...."we gave you everything you ever dreamed of" who's "we"?
we the people who made you who you are. who else gives you everything you ever wanted. loving parents, god(s), rich spouses, true friends, entertainers! though giving usually assumes there are no strings attached, right? i think it's implied that someone took the other for granted. people commented about divorce, so maybe that's it. who knows but noel gallagher!
seems he's pondering existence in general. may just be a personal experience that inspired the song, but it masks the true question behind everyone's mind. we're born, we live, we die. while we live, what are we searching for? why did god (or whoever created us) design this circle of life? every action and reaction is part of this same cycle. to live, ask the question, and find the answer. every mystery has an answer. but ultimately, we all seek a perfect world. but if perfection is the answer, in reality, no one person is perfect, and no two people are the exact same.. so the fallacy is we feel pain so we may know true happiness. but is pure happiness having everyone be exactly the same and die side by side (living beings), or having one person left alone in the world and live forever (godly beings)? it still begs the question lol!!! it's like the saying, "what feels worse, being kicked in the balls, or punched in the boob?" now i feel like i'm rambling haha
To me this song seems to be about a child growing up from the eyes of his or her parents, perhaps around the time of high school graduation when we must discover what to do with our lives and even who we really are.

That line must give away the topic of the song. So yeah, just be patient for the things you want. And plus, to get what you want, you not only dream about it; you HAVE to work for it too. Like, you go to school to get an education. And with education, you get a future. And if you want a future, like with those professional-ish jobs, as I like to call them, then stick with school. Like... LITTLE BY LITTLE, dude.
You got perfection part and the"We dream our dreams alone with no resistance" but you missed the imperfect part, I think that means you will have imperfections as part of being perfect, like when the guy falls down in the video and he helps him up, but you just have to carry on as you are without looking back.
