Animals we are
Disposable
Collapsible and raw
I suppose
It's just the state I'm in
Animals that climb
I'm climbin' over you
Until you say
"Off you go, off you go"

Animal I am
Disposable
Collapsible and raw
I don't know which way
I should turn

Animal that runs
I ran away from you
And now I'm in
"Off you go, off you go"
(And you say)

If you're gonna go, go now
If you're gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you how
If you gonna go, go now

Animal I am
I'm looking for a future
Just like you
Well I don't know
Which way I turn

Animals that climb
I climb all over you
Until I say
And I missed my chance
By a stone slow

If you're gonna go
Go now
If you're gonna go
Go now
I forgot to tell you how
If you gonna go
Go now

General Comment:Very darwinian. It's just saying what's on every intellectual's mind. It never shocked me when i first heard. It was like"about time u handed me that piece of the puzzle, chris. Btw, wt took u so long?"

General Comment:this song is in my opinion coldplay's best lyrically, and it is unfortunate that it is hard to get a hold of.

General Comment:Great song. In coldplay's early days it seems like Chris had a lot of angst about the world and troubles (politics and what not). It was because of this that they were often viewed as a somewhat depressing band...but coldplay changed that by naming there first album "parachutes", and including songs like "don't panic".

I won't go so far as to say that Chris is making a point about the very basics of human nature (lord of flies), just his expression of disgust about the terribly massacres and such that man has done to others and itself.

General Comment:it cant have anything to do with Peta or Chris being a vegetarian-the song has a negative meaning-it claims that people are weak, base

General Comment:it means that humans are disgusting filty animals who care about no one but themselves...

Also, it is an inescapable from birth, we have to fix ourselves and become human/humane.
    BLOODY BRILLIANT SONG!!!

General Comment:I took this song to be about Chris's sympathy for animals, he is a vegetarian and supports PETA, I think it's kind of sarcastic towards how most people treat animals, disposable and collapsable like they are less than us, only a food source without feelings. But then when he sings animal "I" am its like hes saying were all animals, humans and animals, were more alike than we think we are. I just think it has to do with animal rights and people's mistreatment of these creatures.
